Congratulations to our U14A boys basketball team who were named 2018 SISAC City Champions and the boys B team who secured an outstanding 3rd place finish!

PE Teacher Mr McLoughlin shares the boys' journey to the city champs:

“I have coached this year group for 4 years, the first year we played 11 games and lost all of them. From there we built year on year, securing a 4th place finish, a 3rd and finally we were awarded the Champions this year, beating ISHCMC 40-29 in the final. I had 52 boys trial for 24 spaces, therefore we had to have two teams. This is the first time we have ever had a B team in the U14s. The B team was made up of mostly Year 7 students playing against mostly Year 9 boys from smaller A schools. Our B team battled its way to an outstanding 3rd place finish. The squad has been outstanding all year, listening and learning, playing incredible basketball.”

The BIS Geography Department firmly believe that learning outside of the classroom plays a fundamental role in our students building a deeper understanding and a stronger connection with the world around them, along with the challenges and possibilities that may impact their lives and communities in the future.

On Sunday 4th November, 60 BIS music students took part in the charity music event SAIMUSE. The concert featured 7 International Schools from the city along with the Korean Youth Orchestra. All BIS students performed to a very high level and the feedback from the audience was excellent.
Yu Geong Kang (cello) and Chae Won Oh ( Flute) accompanied by Sanny Wu played outstanding solos, demonstrating musicianship and virtuosity. Chae Won also conducted the Korean Youth Orchestra in their performance.
Thanks to all the students and staff for giving up their Sunday afternoon for this event and a special thanks to Chae Won, Emily and Ben for organising our participation.

International Day at our Secondary Campus is a very special occasion, and it wouldn't be possible without an army of parent volunteers that work very hard to make it memorable.

So from all of us, thank you. #BISHCMC #strongertogether #InternationalSchoolLife

"Digital technology is a fast moving learning area, but no matter how much the technologies develop, the skills, process and attitudes remain the same and that is what we are hoping to foster and develop in the DREAMS Lab and prepare our students for an uncertain future." - Mr Luke Dyer, Head of Primary ICT & DT
