Looking back on a momentous year and all we’ve accomplished in 2014, with thanks to you, our supporters. The Sentinel Space Telescope is one year closer to launch, to explore our inner solar system, detect and track up to one million asteroids, and put another milestone in the history of human space exploration.

We’ve prepared a special book of these images, taken by Edward Lu, to give as our thank you to some of our amazing donors. We’ll be picking 10 names at random from our donors who’ve given to the Sentinel Mission online in 2014 and sending them an e-book of Ed’s photographs. One of them could be you.

We can do this!

Our current efforts to detect and track near-Earth asteroids are far short of what is required to protect Earth from the vast majority of potentially dangerous asteroids. The Sentinel Mission will change the equation.

Sentinel will discover and map hundreds of thousands of asteroids, making it possible to detect and deflect future impacts.

But we need your help.

Join the mission and the thousands of individuals from over 40 countries whose donations support Sentinel, the citizen-funded space telescope.

We need you on this journey to map our near-Earth neighborhood. Lets take responsibility for the future, together.

Your gift will help us design, build, and launch the Sentinel Space Telescope.

Donate to the Sentinel Mission today: https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/B612foundation?code=EOY4B

On this date in 2003: Ed Lu and Yuri Malenchenko returned to Earth after a successful six months in space on the crew of Expedition 7. They landed safely in Kazakhstan. Earlier that year, on April 25, 2003, the seventh crew of the International Space Station... #edlu #expedition7 #yurimalenchenko

Where will you be in five years? Ed Lu: "When I’m asked that question, I see myself at a launch pad. I’ll be surrounded by my family, friends, and supporters of the Sentinel Mission from around the world. We’ll hear the countdown, feel the ground shake, and watch the Sentinel Space Telescope lift off on its journey around the Sun."

As the end of the year approaches, please consider donating to Sentinel now, when it really matters. More here: http://eepurl.com/_WhoH

Rusty Schweickart:"I’m asked by people I meet, “Wasn’t it great to be part of Apollo, part of history?” And that’s absolutely true. But they also ask it in the form of “Isn’t that the most important thing you’ve done in life?” And I say no, it’s not. Lots and lots of people could have taken my place on Apollo.

The thing that I value most, the thing that I am most proud of in terms of what I have done in my life, is not Apollo, but it is my work in preventing asteroid impacts, and especially right now working on the Sentinel Mission." Please read and share Rusty's message with your network of family, friends and colleagues. Together, we will build the Sentinel Space Telescope. Be part of the first privately funded deep space mission!

Introduction

If you knew you could do something to literally save the world, would you? Our goal is to find unknown asteroids before they find us.
