"Stalking Asteroids!" Now that's a new way to say it... we hadn't thought of that one

Ed Lu's interview in WIRED is online now! If you heart our mission, please share and share often. (Plus, this may be our new favorite picture of him.)

This is going to be a fantastic event and partnership. Please join us in Seattle on April 22!

This Astronaut Wednesday, we're excited to announce a special Earth Day program with the B612 Foundation! On April 22, space shuttle astronauts Ed Lu and Tom Jones will present B612's mission to track and deflect asteroids that could strike Earth. Get in on the plan to protect our planet; the free program begins at 6 p.m.

Fascinating! Will you be in the tri-state area on March 20? "Live in the New York City tri-state area, or anywhere near the path above? One of the most unusual big ticket astronomical events of 2014 occurs on in the morning hours of Thursday March 20th, when the asteriod 163 Erigone “blocks” or occults the bright star Regulus.

This is brightest star to be occulted by an asteroid for 2014, and has a potential to be observed by millions."

Good news: Syracuse is right in the middle of the path. Bad news: Probability of overcast sky is about 139%.

B612 goes to the Daytona 500! Last week, the B612 Foundation was contacted by some supporters from the Daytona 500 to see if we would like free ad space on the Jumbotron at Daytona International Speedway.

The team thought it would be fun to put some PSAs together for this crowd. We would love your feedback on these “public service announcements.” They’ll be playing at Daytona starting with today’s qualifying rounds, up through Race Day on Sunday! Our huge thanks goes to Josh Rosen of Spine Films and to the band Broken Bells for the use of their music.

Nothing like some new extinction event research to start your day. An asteroid that dwarfs both Chicxulub and Mount Everest in size ( between 37 and 58 kilometers (23 to 36 miles) wide?! YIKES.

Read all about it here: http://news.agu.org/press-release/scientists-reconstruct-ancient-impact-that-dwarfs-dinosaur-extinction-blast/
