Donors mean nothing without acceptors .
In Indic mythology we have several instances showing the Lord as an acceptor. In the Vamana incarnation, Lord Vishnu took the form of a dwarf to accept charity from the Demon King Bali. As a result, the donor was exalted and King Bali was elevated from the demonic form to a godly form. God is both the greatest donor and accepto. He gives everything. He also accepts everything, both prayers as well as scolding.
The donor is considered as a person of great virtue and the acceptor is expected to receive in humility. If someone accepts some thing for a noble cause, then the acceptor is as important as the donor. Acceptance of an award by a worthy person is considered as a privilege and honour for the donor. In executing such a noble deed, the donor elevates himself in the eyes of the people.

The Kidney-Heart Connection:-
Not many people know that healthy kidneys and healthy hearts are intrinsically linked. In fact, a recent study found that kidney function can be a better predictor of heart attacks and strokes than standard cholesterol and blood pressure tests.
This is yet another reason why we need greater awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and a concerted effort by primary care practitioners to test for CKD among those at highest risk – including individuals with diabetes, hypertension, age over 60, and a family history of kidney failure.

Why Donate?
Each year, thousands of people die while waiting for a transplant, because no suitable donor can be found for them. The need for organ donors has never been greater.
Did you know In India every year nearly:
● 500,000 people die because of non-availability of organs
● 200,000 people die of liver disease
● 50,000 people die from heart disease
● 150,000 people await a kidney transplant but only 5,000 get one ● 1,000,000 lakh people suffer from corneal blindness and await transplant
Nationally, with a population of 1.2 billion people, the statistic stands at 0.08 persons as organ donors per million population (PMP). This is an incredibly small and insignificant number compared to the statistics around the world.

Organ donation is the greatest way of showing sympathy to others. In this sense, organ donation promotes a noble, humane spirit in society. It signifies living with the spirit of compassion for others. Organ donation means that one is desirous of extending one’s spirit of service to others even after one’s death. In organ donation, the donor loses nothing, but he gives others something which is more precious than even diamonds or gold.
