Could someone recommend proper ways to root an AT&T Galaxy S3 from Mac OSX? Everything I am finding via Google search seems outdated and no longer works.

Hmmm glad to see I have over 20K followers and google+ filters out all of it. Terrible reach for a social network.

Jesus (real or not) is pretty excellent and radical, if you read what he's supposed to have said . His message is very clear and simple. Not sure how so many people who claim him for their spiritual guide (or savior?) could be so far off...  they are practicing something diametrically opposed to his teachings. I'm not christian, but I'm intrigued to see the new Pope trying to bring it back to basics and freaking out a lot of people :)

why I probably won't buy another Samsung phone

The Galaxy s3 destroys SD cards. And Samsung has known about this for a long time but won't fix it. See Android forums:
"Problem occurs on both S3 and Note 2 phones
Once it has killed one card, it is highly likely to continue doing so (new cards) based on what other owners have reported on their success of replacement cards
Someone returned a dead SanDisk and asked for a failure analysis (from SanDisk). SanDisk found the "dead" card was due to a writing problem where certain cells did not receive adequate voltage during a write command resulting in the card becoming unreadable/undetectable to any device. There is no fix for this. (I offered this failure analysis to Samsung online tech and was ignored)
No brand, speed, etc. type of SD card has thus far been immune to this problem (people have reported online the same problem with Samsung cards in their phones). Issue is independent of brand (cheap, expensive), speed, capacity.
Carriers will deny knowledge of the issue also (I spoke with my carrier, Sprint and they were "not aware" of any issue, and others have spoken to their respective carriers with the same response)"

Don't leave Spotify Quite yet

Well, using some nifty node.JS and Socket.IO based migration tool, I managed to move my Spotify Playlists to Google Play All Access. Unfortunately there are still some gaps. It's pretty good and getting better, but for now I am sticking with Spotify.

What tool did you use to migrate your playlists?  That's one of the main things preventing me from moving to Google Music.

I laughed pretty hard at this, but the sad part is that not everyone will understand the issues well enough to understand that they should be laughing. The basic premise of this article is that Google is maintaining an iron grip over Android by ruthlessly putting out a suite of high quality, closed source applications that have lots of neat features, while underhandedly giving away basic versions of these same tools for free and with source code for the entire world to hack on and improve (as many have... and in fact some of the Google apps are definitely no longer considered the best implementation). Yesiree, those Google boys know how to vendor lock-in! :-)

Santa Cruz Volkswagen was the only dealer in the greater bay area that was willing to special order our desired car - a TDI Wagon with the premium package but as a manual 5 speed. This is the best car we have ever purchased, and we are now enjoying the 50mpg we're getting thanks to the manual transmission and the on-board computer. Our sales rep Robert was honest and above board. There was no BS at all. When our car arrived, we were in our car and driving home within the hour. If you want a great and honest salesman, ask for Robert. Compared to the horrors we have experienced at other VW dealerships, this is by far the most refreshing experience. If you are going to buy a VW in the greater Bay area, avoid all the other dealerships and do business with Santa Cruz Volkswagen. And the VW Jetta TDI Wagon with the premium package and manual transmission is a dream - when we drive it mellow like our hybrid and we follow the onboard computer's suggestions for when to shift gears, the mileage simply goes through the roof.
