American Airlines just released their new livery - the first new look since 1968! Here's an excerpt from USA Today:

American says it had to come up with a new "livery" for its plane exteriors as it begins to take delivery of recently ordered new-age jets that include composite materials — materials that cannot be polished as the airline's existing aluminum fuselages are.

"Since the polished metal look was no longer an option, the importance of the paint selection became critical to honoring American's silver bird legacy," American says in a release highlighting its new look. "Silver mica paint was chosen as a way to maintain the silver heritage which American's people and customers are passionate about, yet progress ahead with a clean new look."

What do you think of the new paint scheme?

The 787 "Dreamliner" relies more than any other modern airliner on electrical signals to help power nearly everything the plane does. It's also the first Boeing plane to use rechargeable lithium ion batteries, which charge faster and can be molded to space-saving shapes compared to other airplane batteries. The plane is made with lightweight composite materials instead of aluminum. Read more here: http://apne.ws/UaKSfP

Many thanks to all of the Women who've made great contributions to aviation since we first took to the skies, and also to those who continue to do so.

As a private pilot, the store is OK. Most of the items I need are there. As a contractor that was hired to repair their defective communications equipment, I am extremely unhappy! The necessary repairs were made, (which required not only labor but hardware) and the work was completed on Tuesday December 18th 2012. I have not been paid for the job. My office leaves voicemail messages, sends emails and no response. I went myself to the administration office and requested payment, and I was promised payment within two weeks.... NOTHING..... As of June 7, 2013...NO PAYMENT!!

Was utterly disappointed when i went in. Lots of books for the aviation enthusiast and a few for the pilot in training. Went in for a Montreal VNC they didnt even stock it, but they did have a lot of the other unpopular VNC's. Most of the items are outrageously overpriced. They should consider renaming it The Aviation Toy Store.

Good store, if you go in physically. Terrible online. Ordered a book 2 weeks ago, didn't receive it. Called to find out where it was, they said it was out of stock and they'd be getting some in 2 weeks. Thanks for the heads up.

Do Not Purchase Online! Placed an order June 12th, 2012 for 12 books ($490 Worth) to study for Airline Prep. Shortly after I saw that they were a lot cheaper through Amazon (~5-10$off/book). I called them and had friendly service, they said they would price-match the amazon list. I sent them the list. I was told I had to have some books come from Toronto, others from Vancouver. I agreed. I was told that the Son took care of online orders and the father didn't. Speaking to the son he said that his father took care of Online orders and he didn't. Speaking to the Vancouver store, he said that the Toronto store never told them what to do with the books. I was then told that two of the books can no longer be ordered (I then ordered them through Amazon). It took persistent e-mails and phone calls and I did not receive any books until AUGUST! Yes they price matched, but I had to ship from two locations and my final books came in August 20th! 50 Business Days Later! Terrible service! Take your business elsewhere!

Totally awesome! If you like planes, you're going to be in there for at least an hour! Four aisles of books you'll never find in a regular bookstore. My all time favourite store; can't drive to Toronto without stopping in.
