After endless delays and problems with logistics (Moto's tech support generated a return FedEx label to the wrong place), Motorola is finally sending me a replacement for the bricked Moto X that died during an Android 4.4 update.

Trying a different color this time - deep purple - but not brave enough to use bright accent colors on the buttons.

I was struggling to understand why this is a problem, until I realized that your charges are trying to convert, not educate. Instead of acting like Mormon missionaries or [insert equally aggressive kiruv organization here], just educate. The knowledge gap is enormous. Educating Christians and Israeli Arabs about the meaning and traditions of Judaism is a tremendously valuable goal all by itself. If you happen to reach a few Israeli Jews, so much the better. Whether they choose to use that knowledge to move closer to God is not your responsibility, you're just providing them with some of the knowledge to make that choice.

So what it boils down to is that bechira is an illusion. What if I choose not to believe that? :)

It certainly would seem that yoshon has more grounding than many of the mitzvot and chumrot and d'rabbanans enacted for a specific time/place that were never redacted and social things that have become mitzvot that are part of our religion. And when we start taking another neglected mitzva d'oraita seriously, the mitzvah of baal tosef, and eliminate some of that other stuff, I'm all for reinstating yoshon.

Farhad Manjoo http://pandodaily.com/2012/06/16/rip-nokia-1965-2014/ says "Nokia, like RIM, always thought of itself as being in the device business" and was blindsided by the power of software platforms. That's simply not true. Both understood the power of platforms (as did Palm, for that matter). However, Nokia and RIM were in complete denial that their platforms were stale until it was too late. (Palm did realize that OS 5 needed to be replaced early on, but mismanaged the transition twice, and only then tried webOS as a last ditch efforts.)
