The rate of new HIV infections is likely to increase without rapid action over the next 5 years according to the latest UNAIDS report.
The report, "Fast-Track: Ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030", says that the adoption of a Fast-Track approach would prevent 28 million new HIV infections and 21 million AIDS-related deaths by 2030.
AVERT is an international HIV and AIDS charity based in the UK. Through our award-winning website www.avert.org, we provide HIV & AIDS Information to educate people across the world about all aspects of HIV and AIDS.
AVERT's main aims are to:
- Prevent new HIV infections through education and awareness campaigns
- Improve the lives of those living with HIV through education
- Support those affected by HIV and AIDS through an advice and information service as well as partnerships with research entities or grassroots HIV and AIDS organisations working in disadvantaged communities
