DISGUSTING!!! We were in the area and wanted a good pizza joint. Based on reviews, this seemed like a no brainer. We prefer to sit at the bar and take in the vibe and this is where the horror story unfolded. Sitting at the bar allows a perfect view of the "open kitchen". Meaning, we could see all the eating, drinking, head scratching, and general disregard for basic sanitation occurring. We asked for a manager and there was none present. We were given the phone number of the owner who apparently only works 25 hours a week and who obviously has some work to do. The bartender was very accommodating and apologetic and even acknowledged these things to be reoccurring problems. She was very nice and also witnessed the kitchen shenanigans and seemed a bit embarrassed. Who can blame her when she doesn't have a boss managing the establishment. DO..NOT..GO..HERE!!!!

Went for a surprise dinner for my fiance, on Valentine's day even though we don't celebrate it. It's her favorite place and I'd never been. I must say it was absolutely amazing... the food is great, drinks are great... and the server Jen... wow... she knows what customer service is for sure! She was exceptional and needs a raise, I now a lot of people that work with the public that could learn from her... the food, the drinks, the staff... amazing.. I won't even hesitate to come back again, especially since I live so close! Keep up the great work!

You would have a hard time finding better pizza, the porky pig with BBQ sauce is great.

I just love when I find hole in the wall places. this restaurant is on top for not just its food, but its environment. it had to take decades for the owners to find the things on the walls and shelves. the food is incredible, I had the steak with lobster raviolis, my wife had the combo chicken pasta. it's a bit pricey, but with the great service and the great food in the great surroundings, I highly recommend if you're in the Seattle Tacoma area that you go out of your way to Sumner, Washington and eat here

Unable to decide what to cook for dinner my wife and I opted for pizza at Aversano's restaurant here in Sumner, WA. A few years ago we spent a couple of weeks touring Italy... part of our visit included a bit of time in Naples. Now, I know, you are asking yourself... "What has this got to do with a restaurant located in Sumner?" Well... we ate pizza in Naples... supposedly the beginning of pizza as we know it. Aversano's pizza is as close as you can get to the Napoletana version. Pizza in Naples and Aversano's pizza share several characteristics. 1) thin crust that is firm but soft. 2) minimal sauce that is quite flavorful. 3) an appropriate amount of (not too much) soft cheese 4) fresh toppings. If, in your life, you wish to try an "old country" Italian style pizza this is the place. If you don't like Aversano's pizza... and you happen to visit Naples... don't bother ordering a pizza there... you will not like it.

Went there for the second time yesterday, both times great food (incredible marinara sauce here) and great service. We love the historical decor and antiques, a step back in time.
