My family and I visited Myrtle Beach, SC for the first time last summer and quickly learned that we had been missing out! The beach is beautiful and very relaxing, and there are so many family-friendly attractions in the area.
To celebrate Earth Day, April 22, the Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts are hosting fun activities to celebrate.
At Sea Watch Resort, guests can watch "Captain Planet" in the resort's Palmetto Room at 1 p.m. while snacking on "dirt pudding."
Crown Reef Beach Resort and Waterpark (where my family and I stayed last summer http://www.classicmommy.com/classicmommy/2014/9/10/the-crown-reef-beach-resort-for-myrtle-beach-familytravel
) will be screening Dr. Seuss' The Lorax movie at the Palmetto Ballroom at 1 p.m., with Earth Day cupcakes and snacks, and even a Lorax-themed craft for children. The resort will also host a trash competition -- each participant will be challenged to collect 5 pieces of trash from the beach to deposit in a trash bin at the front desk in exchange for a prize. This very simple task is a good step toward taking care of the beach environment.
The Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts are also extending the environmentally-friendly initiatives beyond Earth Day by implementing less-wasteful practices to reduce energy consumption and waste, and even promote recycling at each of the resorts. Have you visited Myrtle Beach? What is your favorite resort or attraction?
