We often get the question, “What is the difference between Austin Emergency Center and an Urgent Care clinic?” And our answer is simple – we are a free standing emergency room.

What does that mean? It means our locations are staffed 24-7 by board certified emergency room physicians who provide high-quality care for all emergency situations. From lacerations, broken bones, chest or abdominal pain, respiratory distress, sports injuries, pregnancy-related emergencies and more, we see and treat most types of emergent situations.  We have an on-site CT scanner, digital x-ray machine, modern ultrasound as well as a laboratory and pharmacy in-house.

So when a serious health issue arises that  would require an emergency room visit, or if you have a health issue that cannot wait for an urgent care clinic or a physician’s office to open, you should consider Austin Emergency Center where you will always be seen by a board-certified physician in a fully-equipped emergency room but without the wait of a traditional hospital emergency room.

What are our costs? Our costs are comparable to a hospital emergency room visit and our services are billed in the same manner. You can better understand what a visit might cost you by reviewing the emergency room co-pay and deductible information on your insurance plan.

Why choose Austin Emergency Center over a hospital Emergency Room? We provide comprehensive, fast, friendly, high-quality emergency health services in a convenient, concierge environment. Our company is locally owned and operated by our physicians. When you walk through our doors, you will be seen by a highly trained and caring physician who is most likely also your neighbor and an owner the company.
