Question for the Archlinux Arm Community:  Is there anyone using Zoneminder on a Raspberry Pi who might be able to provide some tips?  Everything installed nicely for me, but configuration has not been what I expected.  I'm not sure if it's unfamiliarity with Zoneminder or if the Pi doesn't have the capacity to handle it...

I would hazard a guess and say the Pi can't handle it....it can't handle a lot of things properly actually.

#screenshotnostalgia 12-08-2008.   I have no recollection of ever using Geany, yet there it is.

+Austin Riley Awesome screencap from the past.  Nothing wrong with Geany...until you find something like Vim that is ;)

Here's a totally staged screenshot as I never use floating windows.  Just moved back to DWM after a long stint with KDE.  Still debating the statusbar and whether I need colors there.

I found the color scheme on xcolors.net:

There's a patch to add a tray, but I'm trying to rely on the status bar + keyboard shortcuts to do the work that a tray would.  I still need to figure out how to monitor dropbox without its tray icon.

I thought this might be relevant to the interests of the archlinux|arm G+ community since it uses both arch arm and G+.  I recently set up a few security cameras around the house and picked up a Raspberry Pi and installed arch on it to manage them.

Whenever there's movement detected, the cameras upload photos to the Pi through FTP.  I use a script to add the black borders so that it meets the size requirement for G+, add exif data for date/location, and sort by which camera it comes from.  Then grive (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/grive/) syncs the pictures with my google drive since there's still no official Linux client.

Google+ then does a decent job of sorting pictures for significance since there's a lot of plain shots of my doors.  Auto awesome also makes nice gifs of any motion.

All in all I'm very impressed by archlinux|arm - packages build with relative ease and everything works just like I expected.

Good old Foscams:  http://foscam.us/products/foscam-fi8904w-outdoor-wireless-ip-camera-3.html  I'm fairly confident all the "hacking" scares around these are due to leaving the admin user in place with the default password
