The little hiding places
As beautiful as Mt. Hood looks as it reflects off the surface of Trillium Lake, it didn't take long for my freakishly short attention span to wane, causing me to meander along lake's trail. The sunrise was ok but it really was the little, oft-overlooked things about the area that really kept my attention going. For example, I absolutely loved stumbling (figuratively, fortunately) onto this tree stump that was shrouded in grass and plants. It made for a perfect foreground element and allowed the tree line in the background to serve as a little afterthought.
