If you are a Yoga teacher, sequencing your class in such a way that you leave plenty of time for your students to practice Shavasana is one of the keys to a truly nurturing and health promoting Yoga class. For instance, you may wish to invite your students to practice Shavasana at the beginning of class, so that they can slow down and become present for the practice ahead. Or you can invite your students to practice Shavasana at the end of your Yoga class as the final resting pose. By leaving ample time for your students to rest in Corpse Pose for ten minutes or so, your students will feel less anxious about taking the time to allow their bodies to cool down and reset in a more optimal alignment.
