We have a home in Tampa Bay Golf and CountryClub  of San Antonio, Fl.  Associa Gulf Coast became the management company for our Homeowner Association in March of 2015 For the months of April and May I overpaid the Homeowner fee by $440.By the 10th of May I was aware of the over payment and I notified Associa requesting a refund. I've made 17 calls trying to get the refund. My account with Associa shows the $440 deducted but NO CHECK. When I call they keep saying they will send a check but do not send it. I've actually made 22 calls usually getting a recording to leave a message. The first promise of a refund was in May to arrive on June 2nd. Then it was for June 10th. The latest was to arrive July 13th. Last week the representative said the check was lost and a new one will be sent, but the office said none was sent and they will send one to arrive the 13th of July. I've never delt with a company with such poor customer service. It makes me wonder why they can not send $440? Is it more than inefficiency?. JD Christman

I would not recommend using them for your HOA Property Management company. They primarily use a company called RE and their work is sub-par. They are currently keeping our HOA group hostage for a small fee and have violated our term agreement. It is unfortunate and we have tried to get out of it.

worst company to work for. they don't give a crap about their employees. They don't care for the safety of their employees.

I lease a home in the Avalon subdivision in Wylie, Texas. Principal Management is the hired management company. First of all, it would be nice if the manager assigned to our subdivision even did her job and did regular inspections. Instead, she hides behind the receptionist and her voicemail. Even sending pictures of HOA violations doesn't get her to take any action. She tries in earnest, I believe, to write a sensible letter, but fails miserably. To think that the HOA is charged a fee for each and every piece of correspondence generated by this inept individual is outright highway robbery. In addition to that, the only thing worse than Principal is the HOA board, all a bunch of minimally-educated retired people who flex their muscles in favor of their favorites, while unfairly discriminating against others. The president needs to go ASAP, as his superficial concern for aesthetic beauty in the neighborhood falters significantly, as driving by his house means seeing wolmanized wood swings he assembled showcased in his front yard with tacky plastic FOR SALE signs affixed to them. I'm sure that is something the bylaws really advocate. People need to band together and file class action against this highly inept and discriminatory business. Despite its perception that its agents can hide from accountability, I can promise there would be a favorable outcome in the jurisdiction of a judge. Let's face it, the concept of a HOA is a pretty useless waste of time. It's all based on subjectivity and discretion, not hard and fast bylaws and rules. Has anyone taken a look at the Better Business Bureau site to see that Associa has hundreds of complaints in the last three years? I'd certainly be ashamed to be associated with any dealings with such an under-handed organization. ATTENTION HOAs: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY -- BAD, BAD NEWS!!!!!

I only gave this company 1 star because Google+ requires it. If you can avoid doing business with this company, then do. Their 'property management' is a complete joke. If they tell you they'll call back, don't count on it. They'll claim to be doing their job when it's very apparent they aren't. Avoid them at all costs.

My Association (O'Brien Mountain Property Owners Association) in California has been with Associa for several years, the manager (Steve Mitchell) has been clueless about the Association's governing documents and laws governing Associations. This cluelessness has caused the membership and the Board of Directors to become extremely divisive. Our legal fees, transfer fees & document reproduction fees have skyrocketed, not to mention all the new fees that have been added. Associa has claimed our governing documents are out of compliance but, Associa along with our Board has never made an attempt to correct the claimed deficiencies. Associa has no interest in creating harmony in the community, it is only interested in generating revenue for Associa, in short, I feel Associa is a total rip off....
