Associa will be working hard in 2015 to make sure that associations have the tools needed to make sure their communities are financially viable and assessments can be enforced.

Ideally your HOA sets attainable goals for itself each year. If not, here are a few things Associa says to consider or recommend to your board when planning for in 2015.

While most HOAs are fairly lenient when it comes to holiday decorations, you might want to double-check a few items on this list as you beginto plan for holiday decorations.

It’s your money and your neighborhood, so why not do a little research and make sure you are getting what you pay for.

For Associa and our clients, thus starts a another year of challenges and opportunities to shape important public policy decisions that will impact our managed communities, our business and the jobs of Associa employees across the company.

Unlike other management companies, Associa has a full time staff dedicated to guiding important public policy decisions that impact our company and our clients.

Just where are your HOA dues going? Where should they be going?

The biggest lesson Associa learned in 2014 is that changes in our industry and consumer preferences require ongoing change to meet the needs of the market.

As with year’s past, 2014 provided us with a lot of teachable moments that we benefited from.

worst company to work for. they don't give a crap about their employees. They don't care for the safety of their employees.

I lease a home in the Avalon subdivision in Wylie, Texas. Principal Management is the hired management company. First of all, it would be nice if the manager assigned to our subdivision even did her job and did regular inspections. Instead, she hides behind the receptionist and her voicemail. Even sending pictures of HOA violations doesn't get her to take any action. She tries in earnest, I believe, to write a sensible letter, but fails miserably. To think that the HOA is charged a fee for each and every piece of correspondence generated by this inept individual is outright highway robbery. In addition to that, the only thing worse than Principal is the HOA board, all a bunch of minimally-educated retired people who flex their muscles in favor of their favorites, while unfairly discriminating against others. The president needs to go ASAP, as his superficial concern for aesthetic beauty in the neighborhood falters significantly, as driving by his house means seeing wolmanized wood swings he assembled showcased in his front yard with tacky plastic FOR SALE signs affixed to them. I'm sure that is something the bylaws really advocate. People need to band together and file class action against this highly inept and discriminatory business. Despite its perception that its agents can hide from accountability, I can promise there would be a favorable outcome in the jurisdiction of a judge. Let's face it, the concept of a HOA is a pretty useless waste of time. It's all based on subjectivity and discretion, not hard and fast bylaws and rules. Has anyone taken a look at the Better Business Bureau site to see that Associa has hundreds of complaints in the last three years? I'd certainly be ashamed to be associated with any dealings with such an under-handed organization. ATTENTION HOAs: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY -- BAD, BAD NEWS!!!!!

I only gave this company 1 star because Google+ requires it. If you can avoid doing business with this company, then do. Their 'property management' is a complete joke. If they tell you they'll call back, don't count on it. They'll claim to be doing their job when it's very apparent they aren't. Avoid them at all costs.

My Association (O'Brien Mountain Property Owners Association) in California has been with Associa for several years, the manager (Steve Mitchell) has been clueless about the Association's governing documents and laws governing Associations. This cluelessness has caused the membership and the Board of Directors to become extremely divisive. Our legal fees, transfer fees & document reproduction fees have skyrocketed, not to mention all the new fees that have been added. Associa has claimed our governing documents are out of compliance but, Associa along with our Board has never made an attempt to correct the claimed deficiencies. Associa has no interest in creating harmony in the community, it is only interested in generating revenue for Associa, in short, I feel Associa is a total rip off....
