Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18317 (19H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring on Jan 16, 2019. This build includes enhances to Cortana, Start, Font management and some other basic fixes. Here is brief review of all new features and improvements in this build. Microsoft has been testing separating Search and Cortana for some time. And it’s now being rolled out to insiders. This will enable each experience to innovate independently to best serve their target audiences and use cases. This update has already been rolled out to some Insiders for a few weeks now, and with positive feedback received from insiders, it is now rolling out for everyone.

With NTFS file system came file & folder security permissions which were not available in FAT/FAT32 file system. NTFS security permissions allow you to set fine-grain security settings on any file or folder. This avoids unauthorized changes to any file or folder without permissions of file/folder owner.

Normally users don’t need to make any changes to security permissions of file or folders, Windows manages it the best way automatically. Every time you copy or create any file or folder to your system, Windows automatically sets security permissions to new files or folders. These security permissions are usually inherited from parent folder/directory.
