Just finished a ten day trip through Ethiopia. These are a few samples of what to expect. The country is fabulously rich in landscapes and culture. Can't wait to process these once I return home in Feb.

Subtle, but important, difference: on Facebook, if you choose more than one picture, the order in which you choose the picture determines the order in which they appear on your feed. Google+ does not let you do this. At least not from your movie app.

Playing with that new effect that's the craze on the internet. Rice paddies in India.

Story
Introduction
I'm a robotics engineer by day.

I'm also an amateur travel photographer (www.flickr.com/photos/ashwinmudigonda) and something of a writer (You can purchase my first novel from Amazon on Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Kamappans-Revenge-ebook/dp/B004Z2E03W )

In my previous life, I've tried my hands at webcomics (http://stoolsnroses.blogspot.com/). I use the blog now to put out my short stories or chapter extracts!

When I'm not hunting for stupid puns, I watch a crapload of movies, play the classical guitar, or attempt culinary miscegenation, normally with edible results! I also believe that bay leaves are just palm fronds. (sorry!)

Trekked down to village of Nongriat in the heart of N.E. India to witness the grandeur of the living root bridges. I was inspired to travel there after watching the BBC's Human Planet and came and wrote a novella on it!

Delightful little place. They do pour overs and their Ethiopian brews are perfect. Good vibes and beautiful crowd. Easily one of the better coffee shops in the city.

Functional, affordable Asian place in Antioch. No nonsense and no frills place with selections of food from the entire South East Asia. Vegetarians have the standard option to switch out meat with tofu and vegetables. Food is tasty enough and they have chopsticks. So it's sorta authentic.

Sublime, tony little cafe tucked in a delicious red brick enclave. Intimate setting with good coffee, little bites and a laid back atmosphere. Great for those wintry days to get away to a piece of Paris or, on that hot summer evening, for a cold cup of juice. The window overlooking the street is my favorite part of the shop and transports me to a Miyazaki like world as I gaze with my cuppa Joe.

What a perfect spot to quench our post rafting experience! This place has everything except pizzas. With a menu that spans pages and many veggie options to pick from, this made me wish Nashville had a similar place. The coffee was a bit average, but I'm not going to whine about it. I got the quesadilla omelet and the cheesy fries. Both were good and satiating. We were glad this place was open on a Sunday of the memorial day weekend.

American tapas would best describe this tony all-wood restaurant. The portions were just right to sample, but won't fill you up. Great place to go if you are on a diet, unless you are like me and order half a dozen plates to satiate your hunger. Vegetarians have some good choices, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of Indian takes on the dishes. Beer and wine selection was good, and the outdoor seating gave me a glimpse of the Batman building!

Easily the hottest new place in town. I remember when Midtown had this vibe, and I was sad to see the M-streetification of many of the places. Bastion has a downtempo vibe with that ambient atmosphere that just has the right amount of light, music, beers, and cocktails. I wish they had better little bites...the way Tavern did
