General Podcast Discussion  -

I'm already 3 podcasts deep, but looking for advice on how to promote the podcast. I'm getting listed on iTunes and I think auto feeded to Stitchr as well. I have a blog, but don't think BlogTalkRadio has a feature where I can embed my podcasts on my blog. Building up a YouTube channel too, so not sure if you can put them up there as well. Any tips would be appreciated!

Your website is pretty well built-out and has a lot of content and color. How do you promote your site?

IN THE MENU
I noticed your Podcast isn't listed at the top of your website. You might reorganize those if the podcast is a key push for you right now. In your Google+ you mentioned YouTube- perhaps a "Watch and Listen" tab/menu may be a good idea.

SHORTER EPISODES?
I'm still learning promotion myself, but I think as beginner Podcasters, we can't demand people invest 40+ minutes in our shows when we are starting out. That is a massive amount of time in the listener's day! Do we expect our listeners to spend their entire commute listening to us, instead of well-done public radio by professionals? I think shorter podcasts are in order- perhaps a 10 minute Podcast where you jump in, discuss key aspects and resolve with a call to action or a closing thought.

LINK BACK
You interviewed Rachel Martin of Finding Joy, but I don't see any mention of the interview she did with you on her website findingjoy.net. I'd ask for a link back from her, and ask her to tweet about your episode.

So much of what I've read about interviewing authors is about reading their other interviews. Know what they have said before, and don't ask the same questions.

I wonder if future authors would be more willing to share about the interview they had with you if they were able to express something is new about their book or ideas? IE: After all my interviews, we discussed something new about my book, and you can listen to it here at Quirky Inspired...

AD REVENUE
That Old Navy ad right at the start was tough- no mention of Quirky Inspired. Does BTR force that ad right in there? I hope you are getting good revenue from it, because I think it hurts your show to introduce the listener right into an ad. I'm sure you've thought a lot about it, that was just my experience.

FUTURE PLANNING
I loved how you discussed what was happening next week in your podcast- way to help people know what to expect.

EMBEDDING
It looks like BTR offers embedding:

SHOW NOTES
I was just talking to friends of mine who are looking to promote. Since the podcast audio content isn't searchable by search engines to index, I think it is hard for your audio to be found, and thus it is important to have pretty detailed show notes. Looks like you do already, referencing the people you interview.

I hope there was some value in there for you.

Had a friend purchase a stove for me, and delivery date was 6/2/14. Now at 4:30pm it has STILL not been delivered, and friend paid EXTRA for delivery. The only thing they keep telling us is "it's on it's way" and when we call back they change their story. First day was, there was no way to know when it would be here, but it was on it's way. Second day, was told it would that the person who answered the phone would talk to the service tech and call me back. After an hour and a half of no phone call, I called back again to just be told it was on the truck but would be here today. Another five hours later, it's still not here. When we called back this time, we were told the service tech has been out all day on service call and he would call us when he gets back to the shop. Horrid customer service, no answers, and sadly this was a service that was PAID for not a free delivery. Will never shop here again. We have sat at our home for two days in a row, taken off work waiting for this delivery, and this business doesn't seem to care.
