We had an amazing fun Family Fun Day on Sat 3/11 – the first for FLAC so far.

The Objective:
Restore Connection to Place – visit Fremantle – participate in community festival – appreciation for Aboriginal Culture, as well as connections with other families and 6 ASeTTS Volunteers.

We could not control the rain and wind, but everything that was in our power went perfectly – thanks to Rachel (nutrition) and amazing ASeTTS Volunteers who were so committed, engaging with clients and dedicated to their role all day.

The day included:
- 7 Families from Mirrabooka, Maddington, Wembley, Gosnells – coming by Train, car and bus! 35 of us!
- Healthy Picnic in Freo Arts Centre (and Glow grow go foods session with Rachel)
- Enjoying Wardanji Aboriginal Cultural festival together involving face painting, bands, bubble blowing, damper eating, learning Noongar traditional dance, sand mandalas, free show bags, children’s slide, ducking for rain, basket weaving and an amazing dance off on the sand mandala in the arvo!
- A ride around Freo in the bus to see what we could see!

Our final Peace Leadership Workshop was held this weekend.

This means we have trained Peace Leadership facilitators in the Afghan, Iranian and Somali communities.

We look forward to their support and contribution to the program, and thank them for their commitment.
