IEP students took a field trip to New York's largest independent bookstore, The Strand. Their assignment: judge books by their covers. The students had already watched Chip Kidd's TEDTalk about book jacket design, so they were experts. They had to find the perfect book for each of the "reader types" in the Atlantic Magazine article, "What Kind of Book Reader Are You? A Diagnostics Guide". Next class, the students gave presentations about their finds.
