I misread your comment above...

I never bothered running findbugs locally either so ignore any errors you get in trying to do that and don't bother. It's a nice-to-have ability to run that utility locally before submitting your files, but not a must-have.

I'm talking about the findbugs output in the results of your submission. The server which accepts your submission runs its own copy of findbugs on your files and includes the output in the results. These are what you would have gotten had you been able to successfully run it locally.

8 Puzzle:

Unable to solve puzzle07.txt. The scenario I am facing is that the first node I insert into the pq (the initial board) is the one that gets deleted from the pq in the first pass...

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think so... here's from the assignment page itself...

Best-first search. Now, we describe a solution to the problem that illustrates a general artificial intelligence methodology known as the A* search algorithm. We define a search node of the game to be a board, the number of moves made to reach the board, and the previous search node. First, insert the initial search node (the initial board, 0 moves, and a null previous search node) into a priority queue. Then, delete from the priority queue the search node with the minimum priority, and insert onto the priority queue all neighboring search nodes (those that can be reached in one move from the dequeued search node). Repeat this procedure until the search node dequeued corresponds to a goal board.

So, explicitly stated there is the fact that you'll enqueue the starting board and then, in your loop, dequeue it right away, to replace it with the N moves possible from that position.

Not randomly, methodically enumerate all possible neighbors

Hello, I am trying to root  my lenovo a328... For getting my phone into recovery mode I've tried the following:

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/A-and-P-Series/Help-needed-Lenovo-boot-in-recovery-mode/td-p/1791285

It finally says that we have to press both buttons, but in from power-off I try doing that, it doesn't do anything...

I am also following another blog for the purpose of rooting my phone via my ubuntu machine...

If anyone has any advice please do share...

Hi,

Is the kdtree.contains() supposed to be faster compared to point set.contains()...? (Kd tree assignment)

No, contains method is not supposed to be faster. But other methods, nearest neighbor for example, are supposed to be.

Why is this?

Can't be done unless it is running pre 4.5. That will require you to root it.

Just alternate between them.

If I recall correctly (I did this course last year) the Manhattan scores are optional for use in solving the puzzles. If you can get quicker solutions using your Manhattan scores then you can use them.

writing code for doing combinations
Combination is a common problem in mathematics which deals with different ways via which we can select r objects given n, where r < n. So we have n distinct objects and we can't have repetitions. For e.g., if we are to select 3 letters from the string ABCD,...
