Regardless of whether this is myth or fact, it's something that advanced physics can do, translate a mortal body into some type of Immortal Astral Matter-Energy Body living in another dimension. A reason we won't probably achieve that tomorrow is because the science of other dimensions is ignored by most.
There are many stories of Tibetans having rainbows suddenly appear in the sky.. after their death and after several days their bodies disappeared. Sometimes fingernails and hair were left. Sometimes nothing was left. Atheist communist officials sometimes watched these events as the monks would go into a tent and disappear days later, while guards were there 24-7 to prevent tricks. A few books describe these events.
1. Khenpo A-chos, a Gelugpa monk of Khams, Tibet, who died in 1998, is the most famous recent case, since he had many paranormal abilities while alive and was seen bilocated often times and able to pass thru walls in his bilocated form. A few days before Khenpo A-chos died, a rainbow appeared directly above his hut. After he died, there were dozens of rainbows in the sky. Khenpo A-chos died lying on his right side. He wasn't sick; there appeared to be nothing wrong with him, and he was reciting the mantra "Om mani padme hum" over and over. According to the eyewitnesses, after his breath stopped his flesh became kind of pinkish. One person said it turned brilliant white. All said it started to shine.
Lama A-chos suggested wrapping his friend's body in a yellow robe, the type all Gelug monks wear. As the days passed, they maintained they could see, through the robe, that his bones and his body were shrinking. They also heard beautiful, mysterious music coming from the sky, and they smelled perfume. After seven days, they removed the yellow cloth, and no body remained. Lama Norta and a few other individuals claimed that after his death Khenpo A-chos appeared to them in visions and dreams.
Lama A-chos emphasized that it was possible to manifest the rainbow body while still alive, not just in death. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, who died in the 1990s, was a very large-boned individual and seven weeks after his death the flesh was reduced and the bones also shrank, reportedly. Shrinkage of the body occurred to Lama Thubten. His miniature-sized frame is now kept in a monastery in Manali, India. Incidents of bodies shrinking or disappearing shortly after death were documented centuries ago, such as in the classic story of Milarepa, a Buddhist saint from Tibet who lived in the eleventh century. Milarepa's biography was translated into English by Walter Evans-Wentz in the 1920s.
These shrinking and disappearing into energy (within days of death) cases (or stories of such cases) are in the hundreds. What is lacking so far is a lama willing to have this process videotaped, so the world can benefit. :) Then, there would be more disciples of their path, why not do it publicly if it is real? :) I am sure many skeptics will ask this question. Still it's a great story that can inspire actual technologies, even if it's not always or ever true. :) Perhaps some things are to remain a mystery, perhaps not, who knows, right?. :) ♥
2. This story of the process of transfer into another dimension after many lives of compassionate behavior is described in Tibetan Buddhism, esoteric Hinduism (vallalar.org type of paths), mystical Judaism (little known), original Christianity (gnostic), Shamanism and other paths under different names, such as Ascended LightBody, etc. Many believe that the original fundamental teachings were always the same, scribes changed things and created differences between spiritual paths.
It is a good idea for the design of Inter-Dimensional Immortality Technologies in future centuries. :) Whether this story is true or not, it's up to each person to research via all astral and physical methods possible and conclude. :)
Lama Karma Rinpoche "died" on 11-11-2013 in Tibet. Lama Karma’s body was about 175cm (approx. 5’9”) tall, but two weeks after he passed away, his seated body has shrunk to about 20cm (approx. 8”), which means his body, including his skeleton, shrank nearly 80%. This shrinking shows he has attained the Small Rainbow Body, or InterDimensional Immortality in this very incarnation.
There are two main Dzogchen practices: trekchö (cutting through) and thögal (ridge-traversing). When you succeed you achieve one of 3 bodies. The first is the Great Rainbow Body, which means directly transforming the present living or recently deceased (within days) body into a luminous Rainbow Body, just like they say some achieved it: Padmasambhava in Nepal, Shri Singha in India, Vimalamitra in China, Yeshe Tsogyal and Chetsun Senge Wangshuk in Tibet, Guru Junpey in Central Tibet and in 1998, Khenpo Achung in Nyarong, Eastern Tibet, Vairochana in Western Tibet and Pong Gonpo and five generations of his main disciples in Eastern Tibet.
The second is the Medium Rainbow Body, most commonly known as Rainbow Body, which means the body dissolves as rainbow light of many different shapes, colors, and all different sizes of rainbow spheres, rainbow rays, and rainbow ribbons until the physical body has totally dissolved into rainbow light, leaving nothing behind except some hair and nails. All these rainbow lights can pass through the master’s clothing and through solid walls. Even ordinary people can directly perceive this miraculous display of Rainbow Body accomplishment. People reported to have attained this include Melong Dorje and Rigdzin Kumaradza in Central Tibet and in 1952, Sonam Namgyal in Mani Gedgo in Eastern Tibet.
The third is the Small Rainbow Body, which means the dead body shrinks a lot. This is also known as the Shrunken Rainbow Body. Masters who attained this include Master Nyaklha Rangrik Dorje in Eastern Tibet. (His body is still preserved and is the size of a hand. His hair is ten times bigger than his body.) Atha Lhamo in 1982 in Eastern Tibet. Her body also shrank to around 10cm (approx. 4").
All these results of Immortalization ( 3 types of Rainbow Body) are outer manifestations of the same immortal body attainment. The differences refer only to what happens with the miraculous display of the physical body, but their attainments are all exactly equal.
3. I met a lady who related an encounter she had with a monk who turned his [reportedly physical, not an astral copy looking physical] body into pure energy while living, in what is called the Great Rainbow Body, or bypassing death altogether. Maybe she was dishonest, maybe she was honest, it doesn't matter that much.
Of course, most people think it was an optical illusion or she saw an astral copy of the monk or something, but one who understands the secrecy of monasteries in China and Tibet, due to government control, may see why this story has a chance to be more than a joke or fiction. For years Chinese atheist officials have been converted to Tibetan Buddhism when witnessing the rainbow body ascension of monks who retire in a tent, guarded 24-7, to disappear in a rainbow of light days later. Many books were written about the hundreds of cases of "ascension" by monks or nuns of Tibetan Buddhism, who dwarf any other religion in terms of number of cases and stories of such events.
Back to the monk, as the monk was doing his translational ascension into another dimension (some Christians think only Jesus was said to have done this, but stories like this exist in Shamanism, Judaism, Hinduism too, besides the all too common stories in Tibetan Buddhism), in a similar fashion with some spiritual teachers who can temporarily become translucent physically and partially seemingly dematerialize, the monk started to dematerialize and then slowly shrank until he became a 12 inches Rainbow Body and burst into rainbow Light, causing rainbows to form above the location.
Something quite interesting was the fact she said that when spiritual human beings prepare for inter-dimensional translation they abstain from sex for decades (most people who do this are nuns and monks who are celibate all their life) and have the power to change biological cycles, such as stopping the production of menstrual blood, sperm, etc. Celibacy allows probably more focus and time for trekchod and thogal, the 2 practices of rainbow body attainment (techniques which take decades of daily use to make any progress according to the lamas). As Chuang Tzu said "only 1 in 10000 people has control over their senses". Maybe only 1 in a billion has true control over matter-energy translation and keep it to themselves for obvious reasons.
Now, if we look at cases where people fast for months without dying, or even years, such as Marthe Robin (official story is 50+ years) and other astral traveling nuns/monks, including the post with 29 videos about such cases (► https://plus.google.com/+AlexP/posts/G2yREkDmPUX), we can realize by extrapolation, that if there is some truth to those Bigu (living on Qi) stories, then changing one's biology isn't that hard. BBC had a documentary on Jesus secret life saying that Jesus was a Buddhist monk trained in Tibet-India. Jesus might have used similar Buddhist techniques if the story of his "ascension" is for real and this stuff is possible.
