Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contribute up to 45 percent of total employment and up to 33 percent of national income (GDP) in emerging economies. The same study from the World bank in 2015 suggests there are between 365-445 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in emerging markets.
But SMEs face unique challenges, which affect their growth and profitability and hence, diminish their ability to contribute effectively to sustainable development. Despite the big role SMEs play in the economy, past statistics indicate that three out of five businesses fail within the first few months of operation. Causes to the failure include limited market access, limited access to information, finances and technology and unfavourable policy and regulatory environment among others.

During the last three years, our company has met several hundred of companies, mostly Small and Medium Enterprises of 80-120 persons, in the Middle East, Western and South Africa, which intent to enter the nuclear power market.
We concluded that small and medium businesses face the same problem, whether they are in Europe, North America, Asia and now emerging markets: they face lack of information on new business opportunities. Most of the time, it is due to the absence of a marketing team, a restricted and fully booked sales team focused on tenders and relation with their existing buyers.

Our team, rich of 20 years of business experience in China and since the last three years in new markets, decided to fill this gap and fix the problem:
We decided to create a website, in four languages: English, Chinese, Arabic and Turkish, which cover most of the new businesses in the nuclear market, from Medicine, Safety to Power plants.
NBN.Media is now online

Our goal is to support the small businesses integration in the most competitive and demanding energy market: the nuclear power.
The information is free to access, and will remain free. We will launch this year a newsletter and improve the access, accuracy and usability of the information for our readers.

Contact us if you are looking for specific information, contacts or just a business advice, we are here to help the business community.
