Meet the man behind the camera! Master Sgt. Rob McIver joined the U.S. Army July 28, 1998. He is a tenor in the Soldiers' Chorus and the Head of Unit Photography for the Army Field Band.

"What got me interested in photography was a desire to have photos of the places I go and the things I see in my life. What has kept me interested is that as I really became enamored with photography - I have never found another activity in my life, other than music, that keeps me constantly engaged in wanting to learn more about it and do it different or better than I have done previously. I am easily distracted by shiny things and photography has been able to hold my attention in a way that most other activities can't."

Thank you, Master Sgt. McIver, for your service and photos! Check out the comments for one of his personal favorites from Summer Tour.

Mr. Michael Shadle grew up in York, Pennsylvania, and served in the U.S. Army from 1989-2009. He deployed into every major conflict that occurred during his twenty years of service. He decided to return to service as a DA Civilian and is now one of our drivers. "It's fun to travel - we see new places, meet new people, watch the different groups perform... I get to see a lot of different things traveling with this band that a lot of people can't imagine seeing in their lifetimes."

Today we shine the spotlight on two Soldiers that completed their final tours with the Army Field Band. Sgts Maj. Joan Mercer and Virginia Turner served a combined 56 years in the U.S. Army and acted as the Element Leaders of The Soldiers' Chorus and the Concert Band respectively. Let's thank them for their service!

We're giving you a little insight into the lives of our amazing drivers this week! Mr. Larry Brown, our transportation coordinator, served in the U.S. Army from 1986-2006 and returned to service as a DA Civilian in 2007. "This is my third time assigned to the Army Field Band. I'm from Gulf Port, Mississippi, and I love the driving and traveling part of this job. I get to watch the band perform, meet a lot of interesting people... oh, and I like fishing!"
