Armel Nene started his career as a network engineer and desktop support before becoming a veteran software developer and architect. Based on the different roles that he worked as in the past; he understands user's frustration with enterprise IT and how best to implement solutions which will help users become more productive and adopt new technologies. He has worked for large corporation with more than 100k employees to start-ups companies.
For the past 7 years, Armel has focused on Java technologies; architecting and developing enterprise applications. He worked on real time Business Intelligence and Data Analytics application processing terabytes of data for financial companies such as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and architected KYC applications for Barclays Global.
Armel's experience is not limited to the Financial Sector as he has experience working for gaming - Rank Plc, Media - Razorfish Plc, Architects - British Design Partnership.
Armel is always keeping abreast of new technologies in order to enrich his knowledge and recommend best way to implement those technologies to organisations. Having experience in architecting large complex application using industry standard, Armel understands the “consumerization” of IT and the opportunities and threats that it brings to corporate IT infrastructure.
Armel is currently Chief Software Architect of Etapix Global, a software and IT consultancy firm specialising in supplying financial companies with Enterprise Portal and Collaboration, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
Armel has been involved in Open Source project both as a project committer and end user, such projects include Apache Lucene, Apache Nutch, Liferay and Pentaho
