That's not a very nice message to send!

Gravity will soon kill the Messenger mission. The NASA spacecraft that launched in 2004 from Cape Canaveral, Fla., and became the first to orbit Mercury in 2011 is on course to slam into the planet's surface

The next time you think you're having a bad day, remember the pain and strength of this kid. It's unbelievable and inspiring. (via juice.li)

At first glance, Jonathan Pitre from Russel, Ontario might seem like your average 14-year-old boy. Like many other boys his age, Jonathan dreamed of being a professional athlete; specifically, he wanted to be a pro hockey player.

Lost your phone? Go to Google.com and type "Find my phone." Win.

#android   #google
You can now go to Google.com in a web browser and type “Find my phone” to see the exact location of your potentially-lost device. How cool is that? Google will now locate your phone through Google Search, just like it does in the Android Device Manager app. All you need is the latest version of ...

HBO has freaked out and banned group watch parties at bars for Game of Thrones, and the NHL has banned the use of Meerkat and Periscope at their games.

First, is this an overreaction based on the almighty dollar that will end up costing them more in bad public relations? Second, does anyone really believe HBO or NHL will have any success in trying to enforce these bans?

My answer is yes for the first question and no for the second, but I'd like to hear what others think.
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly nixed usage of Periscope and Meerkat in a memo.

This attitude dates back at least to the early days of radio, when baseball teams initially would not broadcast home games because they thought it would detract from ticket sales. Even the NFL sellout-blackout policy, which has stubbornly survived like a Japanese soldier holding out in the Pacific, until now, is under this category. It's short-sighted but it will always be the first reaction.

Yep, this -->  "Microsoft frames never-ending labor and connectivity as a way to "help balance life's demands." I'd counter that if you're writing earnings reports on the toilet, your work-life balance needs more life and less work." http://wapo.st/1HwtQ5h

I guess the technological revolution isn't so different from the industrial - oh we can make widgets faster than ever before? I guess we should just make more of them rather than spend less time making the same amount >.<

+Kevin Knights Agreed, and it's not just about seeing something from a legitimate news source, because the credibility of all professional journalists is called into question too often these days, as well.

I watched the 2007 version of I am Legend again. Good flick (although not as good as the book). This time I noticed two predictions for 2012, when it's set. The Batman/Superman combo movie was a little premature, but they got that one right. The gas prices, thankfully, never got that high, though, at least in the Midwest.

Great burgers, plus the tater tots were nicely crisped up and tasty! Service was very good and the atmosphere makes this a great "burger joint." This was our first time to the Mercury, but I suspect we will be returning. When I mention to folks that we ate dinner here, they generally have exclaimed how great they think it is, too.
