Whenever you hear people being negative about qualitative vs. quantitative information when making decisions, please remind them that unless the decision is made automatically by a computer, humans rely on the "warm fuzzy" algorithm to make their choices.  All the numbers and stats in the world just factor in some way to everyone's unique implementation of "feeling right" about a decision. #RiskManagement  #Decisions #Metrics #Infosec

"An organization’s compliance structure must address these risks with an appropriately designed reporting structure in addition to other program components. A risk assessment focusing on forecasting residual risk for different areas of the business, including the likelihood of failure and the probable impact, is a critical component of this analysis. This process allows an organization to map resources to risk in a reasoned and thoughtful way."

One of the key benefits of using #SABSA for enterprise security architecture is that it allows you to gather actuarial data on how well your controls are actually working so that you have a better understanding of your potential residual risk exposure. #compliance

Feel uncertain about exactly what role the Board should take in dealing with cyber security? We have our own take, and it doesn't involve budget benchmarking and increased board member workloads... #governance   #grc   #risk   #cybersecurity   #reputationmanagement   #strategy   #riskmanagement

The latest post from our own +Andrew Townley on how to peel back the layers of a customer disappointment to get to the root of the #strategyexecution  failure.

Ok, everyone.  I know things are a little confusing right now, and the Archistry website is in need of some serious love.  I promise you, we're working very hard on it, and we'll have something totally new and different to show you very, very, very soon now.

In the meantime, thank you all for your patience and support.  Please help us spread the word about the upcoming training courses in Joburg and APAC over the next couple of months.

All the best,

The SABSA Foundation Modules (F1 & F2) are the SABSA Institute’s official starting point for developing Security Architecture Competencies. They are designed to create a broad-spectrum of knowledge and understanding of the SABSA method, its frameworks, concepts, models & techniques. Theories and concepts are put to the test in ‘proof-of-concept’ style case study exercises and workshops so that candidates can understand how SABSA is best applied to meet the challenges of the real world.
