The latest episode of Into It shines a revelatory and critical light on Sandman.
Elizabeth Ferguson Keathley is back to talk about Sandman, the influential '90s comic book by Neil Gaiman and a whole host of artists. This is only the first half of our discussion, and the episode ends more dramatically than any Into It has before. Along the way we discuss the importance of Sandman to our teenage dating lives, the role of mythology in comics, the problem with Wanda, the failure of sex education, and the inspirations fo...

Merry Men reinterprets the Robin Hood story as an account of people outlawed because of their sexuality. It's a a sweeping adventure with great art and charming characters.

"13th century England. Robert Godwinson, former lover of King Richard, lives with his band of Merry Men in Sherwood Forest, away from the watchful eye of Prince John, who has outlawed homosexuality. Though isolated, the men live in peace–that is, until a stranger approaches their camp asking for aid to a nearby town under siege by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Robert–nicknamed Robin–is reluctant to help, but equally eager to get rid of this perplexing stranger... and to put his formidable bow-and-arrow to use. It's Robin Hood like you've never seen him before, based on scholarly speculation about what's really behind the outlaw's legend."

Google Street View can now be used for Sable Island.

"Nova Scotia’s remote Sable Island, renowned for its wild horses and windswept sand dunes, can now be seen on Google Street View.

Curious people can explore the crescent-shaped island, situated roughly 290 kilometres southeast of Halifax, with just a few clicks.

Dozens of seals can be seen grazing in the white sand and blue surf on the expansive shoreline of the island, and horses can be spotted nibbling on grass amongst the shifting sand dunes."
With just a few clicks, curious people can explore the inaccessible island's windswept sand dunes and vast coastline.

Dragonfly Collector's (https://dragonflycollector.com/) video for the song of the same name is a visual tribute to Clementine's travels through the Philippines.

"I am proud to announce the online release of the official tour video for my 2015 The World Is Your Oyster Philippine Tour which also serves as the official music video for the song “Dragonfly Collector”. Filmed in various locations in the Philippines for four months by my touring partner Ian Penn and edited by The Blockhouse Digital.

This is a mere reflection of what I did while gigging and commuting all over the country in whatever means of transportation available that is cost-effective. Possibly the most rewarding experience music-wise and travel-wise. I am simply grateful to all the people and venues that hosted and took care of us and assisted in experiencing the food, culture and identity of each place we visit. I hope you all find the inspiration to travel and witness how truly beautiful the country is."

I had the good fortune of seeing Dragonfly Collector and Ian Penn perform during my last visit to Manila, before this tour. If you have a chance to see either perform live, I can't recommend doing so enough.

This new track from Power Struggle's next EP has me looking forward to more.
(Produced by Digital Martyrs) In solidarity with the victims, the families of the murdered, the communities affected, and the people organizing and protesting against the unjustified police killings of black and brown people... Power Struggle is releasing this song as a gesture of support. May this piece of cultural work keep your fires lit. May it energize, educate, agitate, help mobilize and unify the people to end violence committed by the pol...

Kevin Kelly is one of the keenest futurists out there and he's putting forward a vision of the future where access trumps ownership in most spheres.

"As we increase dematerialization, decentralization, simultaneity, platforms, and the cloud—as we increase all those at once, access will continue to displace ownership. For most things in daily life, accessing will trump owning.

Yet only in a science fiction world would a person own nothing at all. Most people will own some things while accessing others; the mix will differ by person. Yet the extreme scenario of a person who accesses all without any ownership is worth exploring because it reveals the stark direction technology is headed. Here is how it works."
In the future you will own nothing and have access to everything

I wasn't able to dive into Pokémon GO (http://www.pokemongo.com/) when it launched because Android N wasn't yet supported, but this morning I was able to start the game. It's a wonderful expansion of the core augmented reality game of Ingress that captures the feeling of Pokémon perfectly. I've never seen a game explode in popularity like this one, and I'm very happy with the experience so far.

Anyone want to go on a Pokéwalk this weekend around Halifax?

With "Coral Sex in the Sea", Stuff to Blow Your Mind presents the fascinating life cycle of coral and the vital role these threatened species play in our world.
