This Weekend: The closest whitewater rafting trip to the San Francisco Bay Area is running for a very special one time release. Don't miss out!
Join us for this very special once a year event: Goodwin Canyon Double Days is rare opportunity to see this hidden gem of a river canyon, and we get to raft it twice in one day. (Plus, it is very close the anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area!)

The Middle Fork of the American River is a 2.5 hour road trip from the San Francisco Bay Area, and is the most popular destination for overnight wilderness rafting adventures in California.  (And yes, it's running with great flows all summer long, even with the drought!)
Middle Fork American River rafting trips with AO Rafting showcase the best of California whitewater and scenery. Our slideshow takes you into the canyon for a two day overnight trip. . .

Bucket List Must Watch: Cherry Creek is the most challenging river trip we offer, but our most experienced guides train constantly to nail down the lines. (You might be surprised what you are capable of when you're in their hands.)

This gorgeous short clip captures a bit about what a trip here is like; if you haven't done it yet, put it on the bucket list!

When it rains it pours: awesome videos from Nate and Char, that is!  Here he serves up a Class V slice of Cherry Pie. Shot on Cherry Creek just before (like the day of. Literally.) the Rim Fire swept through the canyon. And, did you know that the Cherry Creek season has already started?  We’re …

The +Men's Journal claims that you might have to leave the state of California to go rafting this year.  We strongly disagree.
http://blog.aorafting.com/mens-journal-wrong-about-california-rafting/
Ok, look… we’re a bit miffed. The Men’s Journal published an article claiming to highlight the “The Best Whitewater Rafting Destinations for 2014“, and with the season here underway we were excited to read the list.  But not only did they fail to mention any of our favorite rivers here in California, they even went …

+Gizmodo's +IndefinitelyWild joined us on Cherry Creek this past weekend and came away with a great review of the river complete with a 3 +GoPro video edit that really captures what a day on the Creek is really like.  If you're looking for a real-deal summertime adventure, read this.

(And as a bonus, we partnered up on a giveaway to win a California whitewater rafting trip on the river of your choice for a boatload of your friends!)

With 15 class V rapids in under 9 miles, Cherry Creek and the Upper Tuolumne River are considered the most technically challenging rafting river in the country. Last weekend, we ran it. Here's how you can too.

The Tuolumne River and Cherry Creek rafting seasons are already underway, and to celebrate we've posted a season update, two new amazing videos and a slideshow depicting how these canyons are recovering from the Rim Fire.

If you've been on a Tuolumne River rafting trip before, we highly recommend that you return to see this phenomena yourself.

After running through a gauntlet of fire and drought, the Tuolumne River is still running, and so are we. Find out how the canyon is recovering, watch a few new whitewater rafting videos and a slideshow of the canyon's recovery after the Rim Fire.

We are combating a perception problem; the drought has made people think that rafting in California won't be any good this year.  We put together this map to help get the word out: it's going to be awesome!

The Spring rafting season has already started here in California; even with the drought, there are some great opportunities whitewater rafting.  Here's our top three picks for rafting in April & May:
Our love for rivers isn’t unconditional.  Maybe the general idea of rivers–free flowing water, graceful trees along the bank and sweeping skies above–our love for that is unconditional, but when it comes to specific rivers, not so much.  It all depends on conditions.  So in a year with a mighty snowpack, we’re going to be …

I took my wife as a surprise for her birthday getaway. She has always been the adventurous type. So this looked like a great idea - trying something new for both of us. We did the 2 day with the overnight camping. I didn't know what to expect. We first encountered friendly faces Beth & Steve. They were so awesome and so laid back. Our raft guide was Steve - he was always easy to talk to. It made the rafting experience awesome. I was kind of scared at first but throughout the whole experience - it was amazing. From the rafting, to the food they served (BTW every food they prepared and cooked I felt like I was at a fancy restaurant but in the outdoors) All in all amazing company to go with! We plan to go again next to brave the Class IV & V rapids, and only with them!

We booked for 6 people between 2 companies, and even though the reservation was last minute and we tried to cancel one of the spots very soon after the reservation, they declined. So we ended up having to pay full fee for someone who wasn't on the trip. They would budge at all on that, which is unfortunate.

More than a dozen rivers to choose from, profressionally trained whitewater guides and a lifetime "frequent floater" program (doesn't expire!)
