I use the Send-to-Kindle feature almost every day to read papers and articles on my Kindle. With this, I can even get on any computer and continue reading those items from Cloud Drive as well. So awesome!
Good news this morning for Kindle owners; it seems you're likely to be waking up to some changes in the way your cloud documents storage works that results in a combined 10GB of free Amazon Cloud Drive. We've received a tip that this is pushing out, and that the merger of 5GB of Kindle documents and 5GB of Amazon Cloud Drive is now amounting to a combined 10GB account that covers...

Build for Screens
Always great to hear +Matias Duarte's thoughts on the current state of digital design. There's a few things that I've strongly believed in and he's not only brought them up but expanded on them in some fantastic ways. Here some of those points:

1) Don't build for "mobile," develop and design for users on multiple screens. What you call "mobile" is just one of the many screens your users are on. Build for that cross-screen interaction. There should essentially be no feature restricted to a certain screen, if possible.
2) The future of software will take the best ideas of the web and native and bring an experience where services intermingle with other services while also taking advantage of the core platform and hardware capabilities.
3) Brand recognition is as important as following platform rules. More importantly, it's the job of the platform to allow for that brand expression and sit in the background of what the brand is trying to say.

Also, good to hear +Joshua Topolsky say that +The Verge is focusing on a responsive layout. Seeing +Vox's website, it's quite clear they have the proper ideas behind the scenes!

I try and avoid being excited about any rumored redesigns, but anything that gets rid of that ugly bottom bar in the Google+ app gets two thumbs up.

Analysis: Zooming into a picture and jumping to conclusions.

When this guy shits all over the rumored upcoming Android icons and calls out AP for "spreading bullshit" because he did some "analysis" and the shadows aren't straight, and then it turns out that his "analysis" used some random fake copycat icons, and then he deletes all our comments pointing this out, calls us butthurt, and closes comments, I'm all like...

P.S. Welcome to my block list.

"...the end result is a product where it feels like engineers threw everything they could think of against a wall to see what would stick, with no rhyme or reason behind any of it. What's missing is the person who looks at the big picture and thinks about user experience -- about what all those elements accomplish, how they fit together, and how their presence impacts the experience of using the device."

As usual, +JR Raphael nails it.

So every site all of a sudden is trusting a BGR leak even though it's well known they consistently post fake information everywhere? In fact, some of the sites that posted the leak consistently poke fun at how bad BGR's track record really is.

Hate only when it's convenient.

No, I'm not sharing the article(s).

Not just BGR, it's an Amazon phone rumor at that. I don't read those anymore. I stopped in 2012. Talk to me if/when it is out. I suppose it will be eventually, in some form, but writing about it constantly means even there are real things I can't discern from the piles of misinformation (intentional or not).
