My new paper on donations and lost letters experiments in Northern Ireland shows how conflict make people less cooperative with the out-group, but has not effect on how people behave with the in-group. Wealth and education better explain the variation in cooperative behaviour.

The 3rd annual LERN debate will be happening tomorrow, the 14th November at the Gustave Tuck lecture theatre at UCL, London at 5pm and it's open to anyone that would like to attend. Motion for the debate is ‘Humans are unique. There is a qualitative difference between humans and other animals as well as a quantitative one.' with Prof. Kim Hill and Prof. Tim Clutton-Brock defending the motion against Prof. Rob Barton and Prof. Volker Sommer.

The annual LERN debate is coming up and the motion this year is: "Humans are Unique. There is a qualitative difference between humans and other animals as well as a quantitative one". For the motion we have Kim Hill and Tim Clutton-Brock and against the motion we have Robert Barton and Volker Sommer. It's on Monday 14th November, 5pm at the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre, UCL followed by a wine reception.
