And this is why you should use headphones when in a chat room. It's really off putting when you can hear yourself with a slight delay because someone in the room has their mic open and using speakers.

My brother sent me this link. To late to be able to do anything but glad  they hit their target. It seems like a great project to get kids involved with computers.

Well #FML . I just came to the conclusion that crowd-sourcing is a con and probably fraudulent. I know that crowd-sourcing is very much a popular thing and my views are going to be unfavourable.

Here are the comments that made me think this:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AntoniNorman/posts/GXMc7ZCPSay

It was the Oculus Rift getting sold that made me really think about it.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1523379957/oculus-rift-step-into-the-game/posts

The public gave them $2,437,429 (goal $250,000) to get the project/company started. What are they worth now? A couple of billion.

With penny stocks it's a gamble. They may do well, they may not. But at least you know if they do well you will see a return in your investment. With crowd-sourcing you are not taking a gamble. You are just giving them money.

Even if people look at it as pre-ordering. It's not. You are giving them money to get their company off of the ground. What you are doing is paying for a subsidized item that may never get made.

+Antoni Norman That's not too bad of a proposition. Limiting it to only the initial $250,000 does make it easier and more reasonable to deal with. Really the problem though is that ball is basically in Facebook's court. Actually the idea of giving anything back would be in Facebook's court when you get down to it so I don't even think it's right to tell +Palmer Luckey it's "the right thing to do" since it wouldn't be his call. Even if they stayed independent it'd be a decision involving a lot of other people in the company.

For me I think even the fact that the HMD is now going to be sold at cost is enough of a reward in turn for the Facebook deal. It's a very clear benefit for everyone involved. I could see backers being offered Facebook stock in return for the rapid success of Oculus but I don't think it'd really happen. There'd still be a lot of hurdles to clear compared to other options. I'd take the offer if it did happen though!

Character Discussions  -

Semi-Spoilerly if you haven't seen GoT S4E2. I will try and keep it cryptic.

How good was Jack Gleeson in this. His character is going to inspire future villains for decades.

Also hats off to the makeup department. It's not the first time I have seen that happen in a TV show or Movie, but never like that. That was truly horrific to watch. The amount of detail they put in was shocking.
