Ceres, the biggest asteroid in the Solar System, has a haze that appears occasionally in a crater above some of its mysterious white spots.
The phenomenon, observed by NASA's Dawn spacecraft, suggests that the bright spots “could be providing some atmosphere in this particular region of Ceres”, says Christopher Russell, a planetary scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles.

OK this is pretty fascinating. Need to look into this a bit more. For more info about what is shown in this video you can read this article: http://www.techradar.com/news/world-of-tech/uh-oh-this-robot-just-passed-the-self-awareness-test-1299362

2. This is a staggering technological achievement
It's hard to appreciate just how difficult it is to send a spacecraft to Pluto. But think of it this way: because it's so incredibly far away, it took New Horizons nine years to cover the 3-billion-mile trip there — which means the craft is using decade-old technology, traveling a route that was calculated years ago.

Despite this, NASA engineers managed to get the tiny probe — about the size and shape of a grand piano — to an incredibly precise spot in space, using Jupiter's gravity as a slingshot to accelerate it outward and a few thruster burns over the years to keep the probe on track.

Google ads really need to sort their shit out.

If I disable ads on the Pinguy Forum the load time is under 1 seconded. With them enabled it can take anywhere between 2 to 7 seconds to load a page.

Just turn them off then. The revenue people make from Google ads is shit to say the least. Plus, most people have adblocker anyway.

Been trying to automate the server as much as possible.

Recently I have just come across Monit. This program will monitor running services and restart them if they stop working.

I have only just installed it so unsure how good it is. But I love the idea of it. Only time will tell if it is usefully.

Here is the guide to install it;

And here is my guide for setting up a server;

This is great news and all and will advance science and technologies by 20 years, but we need a better way to detect alien life.

Radio waves are inefficient for sending data over vast distances. For an example the data transfer rate from New Horizons was 600 to 1,200 bits per second, or about 50 to 100 times slower than the speed of Dial-up.

http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/139889main_PressKit12_05.pdf

Radio waves also degrade making them hard to find. This could be why we never found the Wow! signal again.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wow!_signal

Its also way to easy to mistake signals coming from planets and pulsars as intelligent life.

Until we find a more efficient way of sending data over vast distances, it's a bit pointless looking for intelligent life more advance then us as they wouldn't use radio waves to communicate.

tl;dr - We just don't have the tools yet to detect advance intelligent life due to the vast distances.

I love the idea of Suicide Squad being put onto film, and I think David Ayer has done some great work (Fury)

My biggest fears is that Tom Hardy left the project after a script rewrite, and Jake Gyllenhaal turned down replacing him.

People are saying Tom left the project because he didn't have many lines. I really do doubt this is the case. Hardy had hardly any lines in Mad Max: Fury Road and still did the project.

We will never know the true reason why Hardy left Suicide Squad because WB is his home. He would never do anything to jeopardise his chances of working with WB in the future.

I loved the new trailer and I honestly think Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is going to be great.

I have no issues with Jared Leto as The Joker. My issue is with the Director making him look the way he looks.
