Learning to be who you are
Last week I had one of those gob smacking revelations about my art practice. Something so simple but yet it had eluded me for years. One of those sudden
dawning of realisation that makes you feel really stupid for not seeing it clearer before now. Altho...

Paper tests with a tech pen
I decided to do a quick paper test for a new comic I'm working on. I was going to go with Bristol board as the drawing substrate and thought I'd give it a quick test. Test drawing number 1 (bristol) I was a little unhappy with how the pen moved across the p...

awcomix was always just something I picked up as that was the yahoo email address I could get in 2001! it's great because I can usually get the name on any new platform, but I always think it sounds like awww yeah rather than A.W. haha

Inktober is complete!
I’ve participated in Inktober a few times now but this year I had a few things going and wasn’t sure the distraction would be good. I ended up jumping right into it and set myself two rules,  1-I had to post everyday, if I missed a day I was out!

Notes on Productivity
I've struggled with productivity over the years. At some stages I have had superhuman

productivity and at other times super slug levels of activity.
I recently had an important project I wanted to finish without it dragging on. I was tired of taking month...

Introduction

I am an Australian Comic artist recently relocated to Canada, I have been drawing comics for around 15 years and in that time I have self published various comics, as well as contributed to various anthologies such as Tango and Conceived on a tram, and Dailies. I have also edited three digital comic anthologies titled ‘Chugnut Comics’.

My comics are mostly autobiographical, I am interested in what might be called alternative comics, with subject matter that deals with real life characters.

I occasionally undertake illustration work as time permits. Get in touch if you have a project in mind. I have previously worked on a range of project from large to small, such as spot illustrations for magazines as well as larger projects such as a series of illustrated children’s readers.

By day I work as a public library consultant.
