Introduce yourself  -

Morning!

I come from the distant land of Vermont. A native there for my youth, and Pittsburgh for college. I am attuned to great food and beers from both location, and focus mostly on american foods and craft beers in my social travels.

I am known in Vermont by my app, B-Town Things (www.btownthings.com) (currently on pause due to my travels here), which is a local event app. In it's revamp this year, I will be partnering with a few Seattle locals to apply the same techniques for this area.

I currently live in Tacoma, and moved here this March (2015). I am very new here, so I hope my learning curve can be used as a means to help other new people become acquainted with the area.

Thanks for the invite!

A good beer is a good beer, but if you're interested in pushing the envelope a little bit and expanding your beer's flavor, it turns out you don't have to do a complicated soak or extract a bunch of oils. All you need is a French press, that little gadget most of us use to make coffee.

Nothing illegal here, just more of the same sketchy tax practices big corps employ.

Interested in a really good lock screen for your Android? Here's a random Google+ person that I don't know. He put up a post showing his screen, and it's simply gorgeous. The app is called Zooper Widget Pro, and you can get it for $1.99 on the App Store:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.zooper.zwpro&hl=en

Worth your 20 dimes.

This is fantastic. I love the sample app that shows what Watson could potentially do.

Great quality tacos but like everyone else online, our order was wrong. We ordered two single items. There wasn't even a line. Super clean environment though.

Red Hot came highly recommended for its hotdogs. I found them to be exactly as advertised, which honestly fell short of the hype. Hotdogs with toppings -- check. There's a trend out here. I came from the east coast were the word "specialty" seems to mean something else. Everything here is 75% specialty, 25% random alternate money sources. It's actually a shame. Overall however, the place was neat, clean, and tasty. I appreciate the bar scene and rotating taps, but the aforementioned diversity keeps this place a star short of the grand slam.

This was exactly what I hoped for. A lot of bars use the name 'Pub' or 'Tavern' and really don't know what that means. to me, it means good beer, good food, and good company. Parkway Tavern lives up to this standard very well -- The environment oozes with local character, there's an always-changing draft list of great beers to try out, and bartenders that know their stuff. You won't be disappointed by the food menu, either.

This is a great place to get consistently-good drinks and food. Their customers are always returning, and I've had a lot of requests from people to go there with me. The food is great, and lived up to the hype. The only reason I'm not giving this a five-star is that I don't see much change in the beer list like everywhere else nearby. It's become the norm and I think The Hub could catch up a bit there. Also, it's really crowded. It's not necessarily somewhere I'd want to go with a larger group, as that becomes pretty uncomfortable. These two things are a bit snobbish, I understand... But they were legitimate issues for me, at least.

Sears Auto helped my girlfriend out multiple times. Their service is quick, straight-forward, and honest. When their mechanics are unsure, they tell you. They don't charge you until they explain the bill and you give an "OK". Excellent customer service.
