Had a bit of a play blending two Antarctic photos, one from Scott's first expedition circa 1903 when they had just set up the camp and Discovery Hut at Hut Point, the second one with McMurdo Station on the hill in the background and how it looks today.

Another one from Cape Bird, Antarctica.

Adelie Penguin mugshot. The oldest recorded is currently 20 yrs, but it is unknown exactly how long they can live. Only 20% survive the first year.

Inside Shackleton's Hut at Cape Royds from is 1907 expedition. A full 360 degree zoomable version of this image can be seen at the link below, large enough to zoom all the way in and read most of the labels on the cans.

This is not long after the NZ Antarctic Heritage Trust had finished their major restoration project on this hut.

Once you go beyond the local areas of flat ice near the bases in Antarctica, helicopters become the main form of transport. This is a 180 degree fisheye view looking out the front on a return trip from Mount Terror.

Another bit of me playing with historical photos, and photos I have taken in Antarctica. This one is of when Scott arrived at the South Pole in 1912, blended with how it looks now.
