Could be one a of a few things, or a combination of things. Without looking into your site, link profile, analytics etc... it's hard to say what the reason could be. The algorithm is changing all the time and it's wrth taking into consideration the fact that some of your competitors are likely to be practising some form of SEO.

Do Local SEO Better

This terrific post by +Phil Rozek has a list of things that you can do to seriously improve your local SEO. Thought all you had to do was set up Google+ and get a few citations? Think again!
We local-SEO geeks talk about the same old basic principles a little too much: clean up your citations, don't get penalized by Google, be mobile-friendly, earn “local” links, create “unique” content, deserve reviews, ask for reviews, etc. It's all good advice. I've devoted many of my blog posts ...

Some cracking posts this week in +Nick Rink's roundup.

Particularly like the post by +SEMrush "HOW TO DO A BASIC LOCAL SEO AUDIT IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS"

Smart Local Roundup - Google Chat, local photos, mobile search and local SEO audit

A few really exciting updates from Google this week regarding Google My Business pages and mobile search. Plenty of information below so comment away after you've read up on them as it would be great to hear your thoughts. If you didn't think GMB and mobile design were important before, please have a re-think! Also included is a great local SEO resource that takes a look at a quick audit. Enjoy!

Google Chat button appearing in local search results
First reported earlier this week, the Google Chat button has started appearing in local search results. It gives the ability for any consumer with a Google account to instantly open up a Hangout with a business direct from the search results. All kinds of possibilities, all kinds of potential issues and, at the moment, all kinds of questions. Here are a couple of the initial reports along with a first hand look with screenshots.

Welcome update to photos for Google My Business
Having control over which images Google shows through your GMB listing has long been a frustration, so the update that rolled out on Tuesday was a very welcome one. It effectively gives page owners/managers the ability to identify which are external or internal images, team or product photos and even whether to show your logo or profile image. Seems to be working well so far, let me know if you disagree!

Mobile friendliness will start factoring into search
Hold the front page ... having a mobile friendly website is important. Actually, that's not really anything new but the fact that by not having one you may be penalising yourself is new. As of 21st April Google has announced that they will be "expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal". If you haven't got this sorted yet you now have a little over 7 weeks, which is fair warning.

Basic local SEO audit ... in just 30 minutes
Love this post on the +SEMrush site. Doing a quick audit, whether you're the business owner of SEO, can really help to set the basic groundwork and expectations for any local SEO campaign. Doing one in just 30 minutes means getting yourself properly organised ahead of time and this post gives an excellent step by step guide.

I attended the search and social media marketing course in 2011 and it turned out to be the best thing I ever done in my life. I went from knowing next to nothing about SEO and Social Media to being able to educate my friends about it and soon after finishing the course, securing a job as an SEO consultant. Big thanks to the course tutor Aleksej Henze for his flawless knowledge, excellent teaching skills and helpful personality. The course content was delivered in a well paced manner and was up to date with the latest SEO and social trends. I was well equipped to start my new job after finishing the course. I highly recommend the course to anyone who has an interest in SEO, social media and digital marketing in general.
