A stray cat with its lower body paralysed and having a lot of wounds on the lower part of the body came to my home. Could not find any rescue people and finally had to take the cat to a vet hospital and since I could not find anyone willing to look after the cat had to sign up form of euthanasia. Hopefully, the cat had a peaceful end. Had a heavy feeling in my heart today and could not concentrate on work as I was not sure if I weighed my convenience over a life. Not sure if I should be happy with the fact that I gave a peaceful ending to an otherwise painful existence. I have no emotional attachment with the cat , but a huge battle going on in my mind about the right/wrong of my decision. Whether my deed is good karma or bad karma.I would like to believe the cat is part of the whole now as it would soon be having myself as a part too.

Why are we celebrating search and rescue technologies on 4/06? The special radio frequency transmitted by emergency beacons is 406 MHz, and is only used for the international search and rescue network. Learn about how we work together with NOAA, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Coast Guard and others to coordinate these efforts: https://nasa.tumblr.com/post/172658072429/why-we-celebrate-search-and-rescue-technologies-on

Hinduism is the most scientific religion on this planet, at least from what I think. If you search why Hinduism is the most scientific religion on Google, you will see a lot of articles saying a lot of stuff which is all bullshit. To understand why Hinduism is scientific you have to know its core belief, that everything including you and me and the stones, plastic, your excretion, dead bodies are all God( or to be precise part of Brahman). While Abrahamic religions and most other religions that I searched on provides a demarcation between everything else and a supreme God. The fault in this theory is that we have many things unexplained, like suffering, death etc which should not be inflicted upon by a supreme compassionate creator (trust me the theory of free will is bullshit!).

So how does Hinduism explain the existence of suffering, death etc scientifically? - Well the Brahman itself has three functions or forms, The creation-preservation-destruction of everything and if I understand it right, itself too. So birth and death is not by chance, its certain phenomenon of anything part of Brahman, a virus may live for a few hours, a human for few years, the sun and the universe we see many millions of years, but death is definite for everything , so is birth and the phase of preserving a form in between . So by simple extension of Brahman, we can explain Big Bang theory and we can clearly say the universe will not expand forever. At one point it will start collapsing and eventually (die) reach the point of Big bang again and the process will repeat. Similarly, we as a human will die and we will leave aside our blueprint for a new generation to be born-live-die.

How do we explain suffering/pain/sin/war/hate - Everything is part of Brahman. A flood may cost lives, but it does bring about fertility to the soil by the flooded water which helps in the birth and life of another organism. Fire, landslides all serve a complex purpose of creation/preservation/ destruction.

Think of it like every second thousand's of cells in our body die of doing their vital part in preserving the existence of our much complex body.On a macro scale, we do not think if the cells have pain or they die off etc.Similarly, everything we see around must be irrelevant or rather very relevant in keeping a cosmic order. Brahman is doing things to preserve itself and programming itself for its ultimate destruction.

So what is scientific about Hinduism is not what you see when googling around but that the core of Hinduism is that Brahman ( or you can call it God) is there is everything and it takes the three form of creation/preservation/destruction and everything you see or experience is its interpolation in a micro to a macro scale

Kernel Page Table Isolation (KPTI) is the new feature in the Linux Kernel to mitigate the "Meltdown" vulnerability. Fedora Kernel Engineer Laura Abbott has a great introductory overview on how it works over on the Fedora Magazine.
