Shouldn't eat snow to stay hydrated if it is an emergency situation; the ice lowers body temperature too fast to be worth any benefit in freezing conditions. Attempt to melt some ice, then drink it. Also, I've always heard: "avoid the yellow snow".;P Ew, so not safe.
