We don’t ship as many of our Artisan Cookies as gifts, but this week we helped a company celebrate two birthdays with gift boxes. Two of our wealth management clients sent multiple gifts – one sends birthday wishes and one thanks clients for another year of service. On top of our regular business – we had another busy week of making people happy. Let us know if there is anyone on your list who would love a gift box of gourmet cookies and/or brownies! http://ow.ly/BX8B30lg5LD

We had plenty of opportunities to make people happy last week with our gourmet cookie gifts. To mention a few, a commercial real estate customer thanked a group of his clients, our flooring company customer sent follow up gifts to their customers as they normally do, a bank followed up with a conference center planner and a couple of our real estate customers thanked their clients. Let us know if there is someone we can make happy for you this week. http://ow.ly/CwvH30lbFC2

As a small business owner, having rock-solid suppliers is critical to success. The only flour we’ve ever used comes from our friends at @LindleyMillsFlour. I'm so excited to see they’ve built a new, state of the art office. Founded in 1755, I’m confident they’ll be around for another 263 years so I won’t have to worry about where to get the flour that makes our cookies and brownies so good!

It was a busy week in the bakery at Anna’s Gourmet Goodies. We shipped Sample packs to a new customer down in Louisiana (of course we included some lagniappe), helped a scholarship winner thank a donor, made a lot of realtors very happy with cookies courtesy of one of our flooring customers and sent a load of big chocolate brownies to help a patient feel better in the mountains of North Carolina, just to name a few.

Participating in the Angels Among Us fundraiser this past Saturday was the culmination of events that started with a little reflection and a desire to honor my Mom for Mother's Day. Read more about how it all came together...

Anna and I spent the afternoon taking photos of our Holiday Gift packaging at Lions Gate B&B, an incredible Inn in the heart of Wake Forest. We'll have the catalog up on the website shortly. If you happen to be in the area, you'll certainly want to plan a visit. http://ow.ly/BQ0L30fUNaa

Today is Coffee with a Cop Day and Anna’s Gourmet Goodies baked up some gourmet chocolate chip cookies for our Wake Forest Police Department to share with visitors. We are grateful to have these top-shelf men and women serve our community. And thanks to Starbucks for hosting the event! http://ow.ly/GEog30fDk1H

We’ve been helping our friends at Duke with cookies and brownies for the #TechConnect event for the past several years. Kirsten Shaw does a fantastic job organizing this sold out event to help connect students with top tier companies in a range of industries. Great for us and the students love our #cookies!

I spent the afternoon in the bakery yesterday getting ready for a large #shortbread order today. There’s something satisfying about creative manual labor, especially when I get to use cool tools like this custom cutter I designed and built. Hard maple, aircraft grade aluminum and laser cut stainless steel – makes easy work of cutting out shortbread squares.

The order is off as a thank you to dental offices in the northeast – going to make a lot of people happy on Monday…

Some of the best lessons I’ve learned about life and business come from watching and listening. In this case, listening to my daughter and paying attention to the process of writing a book reminded me of the most import element of great customer service.
