Trekking in the Everest Region:

Just northeast of the main earth zone, the Everest region suffered a fair bit of damage during the 2015 tremors, particularly at lower elevations. While majors settlements such as Lukla and Namche Bazzar saw little damange a deadly avalanche swept over the tent city at Everest Base Camp on 25 April killing 18 trekkers and guides - the worst mountaineering disaster in Everest's history - and buildings were damaged all along the trekking routes to Base Camp, Gokyo and Lukla.
However, Solukhumbu avoided the devastation seen in the Langtang valley. In most villages, buildings escaped with only minor cracks and post-quake survey by specialist engineers found little serious structure damage to either buildings or trekking trails.

Mera Peak Climbing
The highest trekking peaks in Nepal and views of four of the world’s five highest mountains.
This superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trail which leads to Everest Base Camp, and over a little –used pass to the east, through which we enter the spray inhabited Hiku Valley. From here we walk northwards through a beautiful high alpine environment, where Mera Peak at 6476m , the highest trekking peak in Nepal, towards over the Hinku Valley .
Traversing around to the north, however, we find a softer side to the mountain, and from here it is a non-technical climb which anyone with Ice-axe and crampon experience can attempt. If you’ve acclimatized well, and have strong lungs and plenty of willpower, you can reach the summit of this beautiful Himalayan peak and obtain views that encompass four of the five highest mountains on earth standing proud over hundreds of lesser ones, many still unnamed and unclimbed.
