Big Fun Education, a CT non-profit, is on "Making the Grade" tonight -- that's CNBC WVIT Channel 4. It will be re-aired at 6am tomorrow. In this time when there are so many negative stories about education we are proud to be part of a positive story.

The segment will show students in Waterbury, CT, learning basic math and reading skills in an online gaming system called "The Official CMT League." Live statewide scoreboards rank kids by how hard they are working and real prizes are sent to the schools to recognize hard work. 6% of CT elementary schools currently use this system.

People's United Community Foundation has just given Big Fun Education a grant to offer these games FREE to all 2nd-8th graders this summer in an effort to close the achievement gap which widens every summer in CT. Tomorrow, Big Fun Education is awarding The Naylor School in Hartford a UConn basketball signed by the 2011 NCAA Championship team. Naylor students won the prize by working hard on www.TestPrepFUN.com.
