Anyhoo, I've just done one of the MBTI assessment tests (good to get a first-hand feel for the process), so it'll be interesting to see the results. I always feel like I'm contradicting myself in these tests (yes, I love a schedule... but I don't like to be bound by it; yes, people drain me... but I'm fabulous at parties and conversing; yes, I think rules are important... but only if they are logical and necessary; yes, I love to analyse the facts... but I also love to let my mind wander into the uncharted waters of possibility).
And I hate those questions which ask "What do other people think/know about the way you...?". I don't know!! I give up on trying to guess what other people thing about anything! Why don't you ask them?
Will be interesting to see what my "ideal" career should be :)
While I love developing new ideas and concepts, I tested extremely strong in the T function. I'm wondering if my very logical and rational side tempers the N a little with a need for solid data, facts and evidence to stop ideas traversing too far down the road toward pure speculation and fantasy.
I am, if nothing else, very pragmatic - despite enjoying theoretical excursions of the mind. (But isn't that the INTJ mantra: "Does it work?")
