Ugh.. so seems Twitter have decided to remove your custom background (except for a few publicly viewable pages) leaving it a dull and boring pale grey.

I was hoping it was just a glitch, but seems it's something we're stuck with :(

Have you lost your background yet?
Twitter appeared to have removed wallpapers from users' accounts on Twitter.com Monday, with many users reporting a stark all-white background instead.

+Micky Stuivenberg - probably a fair call. I hate using mobile versions so I guess I'm one of those who did notice.

Does anyone offer discounts for early payment, and if so, how much faffing around is it to amend invoices to reflect this, or do you deal with it in some other way?

Thinking a discount for bills paid before the due date and offsetting that with a late payment fee for those that are still unpaid 2 weeks past the due date.

Sort of a random question, but can anyone offer any suggestions as to why I keep getting significant search results pointing to UK websites,  even when I've set Australia as my default country?

It's driving me crazy!

+Perry Bernard - yeah, I get the dynamic nature of IP addresses... I just wish it wasn't always allocating something 670-1300km away.

And the UK websites show up with depressing regularity. I've got to the point where I add "Australia" in the query by default to try and minimise it - and still I get UK sites.

I also just tried the exact same search terms as before and 4 out of 5 of the top search results were .uk sites, even with my location setting reset to Australia. Interestingly, it made no difference whether I was signed in or out of Google.

Will definitely keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Just stumbled across this little gem on Quora:

Introversion is intrinsically bad if it's caused by fear of meeting others.
Extroversion is intrinsically bad if it's caused by fear of meeting yourself.

The amount of facade they exude is pretty disgusting to me. I think that's why introverts can become outcasts more easily. We tend to know what we are on the inside, and display that instead of what people expect from us.

How do you answer your phone? And if you're receiving a call from a client you're working with, do you stick with the "standard" greeting, or answer with their name?

Eg. I usually answer "Thanks for calling Copybreak. This is Anna," but if it's client I'm already working with, will usually just say "Hi [client], how are you?".

Was just curious what everyone else's approach was.

Is there a way to post to public communities without the post showing up on your profile page for everyone to see?

I know I can choose to post exclusively to people in my circles, but I'm wanting to post exclusively to communities.

As a freelancer, I use my profile as a professional tool as many clients and associates view my page. As such, I'd rather not clutter it up with posts related to personal interests which are not relevant to them.

And yes, I know there are Google Business Pages - but that still doesn't resolve the issue of clients and associates viewing my profile page.

Or am I going to have to set up another personal profile if I want to keep my professional and personal interests apart?

Thanks again +Alex Garcia. I think my best solution is to set up a secondary personal profile for non-industry related communities so it's not "all or nothing".

Dear accommodation providers around the land - a few tips to improve your revenue:

1) Invest in a decent website of your own

2) List your rates & availability - correctly - and don't make people chase you up for them via booking/availability requests

3) If extra people cost more, you might want to mention that

4) Use QUALITY, hi-res photos

5) Include photos of every bedroom, the kitchen and bathroom/s - you know... the places people will actually be staying in

6) Ensure the lighting is good

7) Nobody is interested in 30 photos of landscapes, sunsets, soap, light-fittings, pot plants, drawer handles, or anything else that doesn't show your accommodation - especially at the expense of quality photos of your bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom/s

Did I mention investing in a decent website of your own?

Accommodation sites like Stayz and Wotif are a good starting place, but they really don't showcase the unique qualities of your property.

A little care and attention to detail can go a long way toward improving the attractiveness of your property and and enticing people to stay.

+Anna Butler Yes just another lesson in letting go...usually it's the client but the designer? What's worse is that he was really nice and good to work with, but no future chance of that. Phew, thanks for the therapy!

I really think debating should be a mandatory part of the school curriculum from a fairly young age to teach children:

1) Critical thinking skills through researching and exploring ideas beyond what they hear in their immediate circles.

2) Empathy through considering and defending points which may not align with their own.

3) Objectivity - that discussing different ideas and points of view doesn't equate to attacking the person who presents the idea.

Given the connection between introversion and hypersensitivity, how do INTJs fare with this form of heightened emotional sensitivity?

Despite being highly sensitive to other stimuli (light, sound, smell, touch), I'm not so good when it comes to picking up on other people's emotional vibes. I do, however, know an INFP I would classify as an empath in this sense.
Those of you who are familiar with social anxiety will understand how hard social interactions may be for people suffering from this…
