Hi there. We're back!

We haven't been very active on social media as of late, but that's (mostly!) because we've been hard at work. We have some exciting things in the pipeline... but it's still a secret project, so more on that soon ๐Ÿ˜‡

Meanwhile, our team in Cambodia has been growing: Steve and Alex joined Aniwaa and Martin is completing a 6-month internship with us. And of course Ludivine and Pierre-Antoine are still working remotely from France.

Here are some snippets of our startup life in Phnom Penh. There's never a boring day in our geek lab!

๐Ÿ“ฑ Did you know that it's possible to 3D scan with a smartphone? ๐Ÿ“ฑ

A little over a handful 3D scanning apps exist for smartphones, and they're free to download! Some only require your smartphone's camera, while others require extra hardware or dongles.

Turn your smartphone into a pocket-sized 3D scanner with these apps (iOS and Android).

๐Ÿ“… Let's take some time and look back at the some of the top viral 3D prints of 2017 ๐Ÿ“…

We made a calendar mash-up of the most viral 3D prints from 2017. No awards or scientific calculations here: this is purely based on our observations.

We're basically scrolling our feeds on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube all day long, and along the year we witnessed some really cool 3D prints go viral. So we started making this calendar and kept it updated, to finally share it with you!

Also, we thought it was cool to highlight the unsung heroes of 3D printing aka the talented designers behind all these models.

Now the question is: did you print them all??

๐Ÿ’ช 3D printing with high-performance materials ๐Ÿ’ช

We often talk about consumer 3D printers, but additive manufacturing is very present in the professional world as well!

PEEK 3D printers can create sturdy, lightweight parts that are super resistant to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and more. The next plane โœˆ๏ธ you fly on may have actual 3D printed parts!

๐Ÿ’ฐ Who said you have to spend thousands of dollars in order to own a 3D printer? ๐Ÿ’ฐ

We've selected 10 of the top-rated ๐ŸŒŸ and best-selling 3D printers available for under $300.

Most of these 3D printers are delivered as kits to be assembled, but we also included a few plug-n-play 3D printers. It's still time to order for Christmas!

Have you heard of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing? This technology uses powdered material to create solid and lightweight parts or prototypes โš™๏ธ.

Up until now, SLS 3D printers were very large and expensive. Today, this technology is becoming more compact and affordable.

See our selection of professional desktop (or benchtop) SLS 3D printers starting at $6,990.

Yesterday, our co-founder +Pierre-Antoine Arrighi got a close look at the HP Jet Fusion 4200, a massive 3D printer powered by a groundbreaking technology. Looks like the big bet on industrial 3D printing by tech giant +HP is going to pay off!

Thanks to our friends at +Multistation Digital Manufacturing for the great demo and visit ๐Ÿ‘Œ

๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ 3D Printing Holiday Gift Guide ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„

Holiday season is coming! (Every year it seems to be rolling in faster, doesn't it?)
For the occasion, we put together a short holiday gift guide for those who'd like to bring 3D printing magic ๐Ÿ™Œ to their friends and family.

We've selected 3D printers for beginners, hobbyists and even for tweens. And since 3D printing is probably a bit too challenging for children, we also mentioned a few toys that can introduce kids to 3D printing (under $100!).

Check it out and let us know if you have any other gift ideas related to 3D printing!

We've reviewed the Scan in a Box 3D scanner from Italian manufacturer Open Technologies. Also known as SIAB, this 3D-capturing machine is professional yet affordable.

We managed to get pretty good scans of two plushies, a soap dispenser and even a piece of baguette! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ต๏ธ

The Open Technologies Scan In a Box is available at the manufacturer price of โ‚ฌ2,390.
