the Anita Borg Institute is partnering with the Lean In Foundation, Facebook and LinkedIn on a new global effort to create and expand Lean In Circles focused on Computer Science and Engineering on college campuses. Our objective is to greatly expand the presence and engagement of Lean In circles and chapters on campus.

Access to and engagement with inspirational role models and career guidance can be life changing. But GHC only happens once a year. What if you had access to a strong, structured network year round? This is the promise of the Lean In Circles.

"If you aren't keeping an eye on the details, things can quickly move in the wrong direction in an emerging company. Most of the decisions as you get started are a series of small decisions that together build the company and the strategy. If you aren't willing to be in there at every level, you won't be able to navigate successfully. "
Many people have ideas on how to change things or create something brand new. Entrepreneurs act on those ideas. It's all about belief that everything is possible (though it may not be desirable), and that you can make it so....

"There are still just 51 female CEOs in all of the Fortune 1000. Yet female chief executives like H-P’s HPQ, +0.28% Meg Whitman and Yahoo’s YHOO, +4.39% Marissa Mayer have paved the way for more women leaders, and the biggest tech companies are beginning to open up about their workforce diversity -- or lack thereof."

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a great opportunity to gain professional visibility as a subject matter expert, expand your network, learn about new and exciting technologies and inspire other women in computing. Submit a proposal for a workshop, technical talk, or panel for this year’s conference!

"Many of the programs and organizations mentioned above are in dire need of volunteers, and not just female volunteers. [..] Join a local chapter of an organization supporting girls and offer to help as an instructor, teaching assistant, or event coordinator."
Getting started with contributing to open source can be tricky, so the following is a list of suggestions I have as a women in the community for other women and girls out there to make it easier.
