These include Lai XaakGahori or Pork with Broad Mustard Leaves, thick sesame fish curry (Til Maas), Rongalau Murgi, tender chicken pieces with pumpkin.
Also in attendance will be the legendary BhutJolokia, in chutneys as well as with pork and bamboo shoots. This fiery chili lends a distinct flavor to several Assamese dishes and is widely known for its heat and flavor.
A first of a kind event in Kolkata, this has come about through the graces of Anindya Sundar Basu of Pikturenama (www.pikturenama.com
), a blog which is his labor of love of photography and passion for food. With more than 100 posts, this food and picture blog has made him and his elegant wife and an accomplished cook and food stylist Madhushree Basu Roy much loved food bloggers.
Gitika and Anindya , social media friends and both food lovers hit upon holding a pop-up to showcase the hidden flavors of Assam. A first of its kind event for Kolkata, the city which is famous for its gastronomic canvas, this is one feast you can’t afford to miss.
