Animal Behavior College changed my life in so many ways. I am a military spouse and I went to ABC through MYCAA witch is an organization through the military to help military spouses get an education. I took the Veterinarian Assistant course because it suited me best. The books are very detailed and thorough and teaches you everything you need to know about the course. My advisor was amazing and helped me with any question I had along the way. Two years later I am now working as a Vet Assistant at an Emergency Hospital and I also work at an SPCA as a Surgical Vet Assistant. I couldn't be more proud of myself as to how far I have come and to get to where I am today, and I owe it all to Animal Behavior College to have helped me achieve my goals and helped me peruse my career in the animal industry. I would definitely refer anyone who is interested in a career working with animals to come to Animal Behavior College!

Graduated from all three programs. I loved my training and grooming and enjoyed my vet assistance but my understanding is to make sure you line up good mentors prior to going into the program and make sure they get the ok from the school. I happen to have prior experience in all three fields and felt the information was valid. I agree about the grooming book in breed standards. I bought Notes from the grooming table, a much better choice though the program and better pictures. Overall I am glad with my experience.

I just recently graduated from this college (Aug.16 2013) and i absolutely loved the program! I took the Veterinary Assistant Program. The school sends you all the books you need plus your scrubs. Pros: -You learn from home on your own time. -You get to take a practice test before you take the real test. -You have a program manager that is available to you if you have any questions or concerns. -It's not all that expensive, and there are plenty of ways you can make payments or if you are military or spouse of military, they have MyCAA available as well. -The externship is done at a hospital/clinic in your area. -The staff is encouraging. -Test is open book (obviously) -there are extra classes you can take along with the program Cons: -Most stages are extremely long -The practice test is not always in order so you have to search forever for the answer if you don't already know it. -The test is exactly in order with the practice test which doesnt allow you to retain the information as well. -Getting ready for the externship can take a while if there are no openings in your area -Your Program Manager doesnt contact you to check on how you are doing. -The certificate takes too long to get to you once you have completed the program and graduated. -The CEPs are only online, so you have to stare at your computer for hours to read the material (that can be bad for your eyes!!) -The CEP's are WAAAAY too long and the tests are WAAAAY too long as well. I had a good experience with the program because i do better when i am able to do things on my own time. i have never done well in class settings, so this program was great for me! This was my first step to a very rewarding life in the Animal field. It may not be for everyone, but thats for you to decide(:

My groomer provided a grooming internship for one of the students and was told she would be compensated. She was not. When we inquired about it, we were told they compensate through the insurance they provide for the student. We will never take interns again because of this.
Response from the owner - 6 months ago
Hi Lauren, who is the externship coordinator that your groomer has spoken with? What is the name of the business? We'd be happy to speak with the externship coordinator to find out more information about the compensation. We do apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Feel free to e-mail us at StudentSatisfcation@AnimalBehaviorCollege.com so I can get additional information from you.

I had a very positive experience with this school. I went for grooming and I mean not many groomers can say they are certified I think its a great investment if its really want you want to do.

I just Finished my final exam a few days ago ....I am so excited that I finally finished with the program. I am on my way to become a successful trainer. The classes were easy, and the externship was great. I had a great trainer who was very knowledgeable and professional. I loved working with the shelter animals. The most rewarding part was seeing a dog get adopted because the family watched me out side working with a dog, while lined up waiting for the shelter to open. They fell in love with the dog and the fact he knew his obedience was a plus for him!

Ok, So you may have had a bad experience with them. But Mine was GREATTT!!!! I absolutely LOVE Animal Behavioral College. You work at your on pace. No one bothers you. If you have questions all you have to do is call. All you have to do is have ur tests turn in on time and your good. I have test anxiety. Going to this school has help it tremendously, because I don't have to sit in a class room and have a teacher breathing down my neck. And it's not timed. It's very laid back. They are not just teachers they become your friends. They encourage you and give you confidence. You may not have gotten good hands on training but I did and made ALOT of friends while doing it. Darlin you would learn from a book if you went to a regular college teacher just assist and at abc all you have to do is call they are there and willing to help and answer any questions you have. So I'm sorry you didn't study! :)
