Tags are pages, NOT keywords. Are you randomly creating pages? (It's OK. You're not alone. Tags confuse a lot of us.) TAG = A specific, value-added subtopic that intentionally aggregates a bare minimum of 4 posts. (If your tag cloud looks like the depicted example, you're doing it wrong. i.e. A page for "red" lacks clarity, relevance, and appeal... regardless of industry. Red what??)

ASK YOURSELF: "Is [TAG] going to provide a grouped-content 'best answer' that drives traffic and provides meaningful answers for users?"  If no, don't do it. Wield tags wisely as aggregator subtopic pages, and you'll reap great benefits. #UX #SEO #blogging #content #contentmarketing
