This is going to be fun! I hope you can join +Chris Smith and me for the tour!

Angie McMonigal and I are leading a tour of our favorite architectural places to shoot on April 18th. We are getting a small bus to take a group of up to 20 people to our favorite buildings that you can’t get to on a walking tour. It’s going to be a great…

The dreaded self-portrait...and this one is a stretch
http://www.angiemcmonigal.com/2015/03/self-portrait-its-a-stretch/
The dreaded self-portrait is one of those things I think most photographer's struggle with. We're all so much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it...it's always good to push yourself outside your comfort zone from time to time

I recently completed a custom collage for a client of mine, thought I'd share the final product and the very kind review...it's so nice when a client is happy with the final result smile emoticon
We had it finished with an acrylic front which turned out really amazing. I can't wait to see photos of it hung in their home!
"My husband commissioned a custom Chicago piece from Angie knowing that it would be a big hit to have a piece of my hometown in our house on the east coast. It came out AMAZING and Angie was the consummate professional throughout the entire process. Angie was patient and worked with me for several months and numerous iterations to make something truly special and custom. She even took extra images of Chicago places that were special to me. She was always very responsive and quick in the turnaround and the end result is even better than I imagined when we started the process. The piece was packaged very carefully and safely shipped to me. It was a seamless and smooth process from start to finish and now every time someone sees this piece they stop, look and comment on how beautiful it is! I highly recommend Angie to anyone who appreciates fine photography!
Thanks Angie!"

The blog is fixed (!!!!!!!) and there's a brief White City series update!
http://www.angiemcmonigal.com/?p=15225
I finally made a decision about which Rookery and Palmer House images to add to The White City series, thought I’d give you a little update… Daniel Burnham and John Root’s Rookery office was where many meetings were held regarding the 1893 World’s Fair so it seemed like a key location to include in the …

Love this!
Over the past few months, several things have come up to bring me to the point of writing this post. And honestly, this topic continually cycles through my days working with photographers, and I have some strong feelings I would like to share. A few months ago, a photographer whose work I really admire wrote to tell me that if nothing “major” hit for her this year, then she was going to hang up her fine art photography hat. I was so ...

Chicago based architectural fine art photographer
Introduction
I tend to focus on urban, architectural elements and geometric patterns, most often in my current hometown of Chicago. When I do take a break from the urban environment, I enjoy making images in nature and travel, and strive to find minimalistic, geometric patterns there as well.
