Super excited to be at +VProud today talking about my efforts to protect my mental health through changing my diet. Depression is a complicated thing and can be affected by so very much--including sugar! http://ow.ly/TDta6

It is important to understand how sugar affects our body and how sugar and mental health are connected so we can make good food choices and live healthy.

This is wonderfully, painfully realistic, and so well written. I can smell the AquaNet and hear the music at the roller rink. (If I think about it, I can smell the roller rink. Bleh.)

You did a great job capturing the way the past can grab you and make you feel like a teen again, even as your (almost) teen walks into the kitchen.

What social media is doing to our teens' lives. What are we going to do about it? Please tell me, because I have no idea.

I should just put this on my arm already and call it a day.

I think this watch should come with every new baby.

Have you ever introduced yourself as "just a mom"? I did a few weeks ago, and promptly had an existential crisis about my identity. Come talk to me about your experiences owning "mom" as a job.

Ever wonder what life is really like with #twins ? Here's a small snapshot.
Hint: I feel like I'm trespassing, but it's a beautiful thing.
Wrapping myself in a towel, I get out of the shower and listen. It's the habit of a mother, the automatic check for voices, for sounds of play. There is only silence. This cannot be good. I pad down the hall to her room, where I see no children, but I hear voices, murmurs. Giggling.

The world ended last night. You can blame Florida State. #Clemson #football Seriously, I hope my husband mourns this much when I die.

Love, love, LOVE this from +Andrea Mowery! A must read if you've ever struggled to help your kids with math homework. And you know you have.
This year is the first year since second grade my son has had any serious amount of homework. Over the years, he's brought home a math sheet, a book to read, a spelling list to peruse once or twice a month. The odd project came home, but not every year. Last year he brought so little work home ...

We're kind of screwed in that department. Neither of us are math people.

Heard Madonna's "Justify My Love" on the radio just now. Amazing to think how scandalized we were by that. No twerking or anything. #NaiveInThe90s

Introduction

Angie Kinghorn is, in stolen moments, a writer of memoir and fiction. Her work has been published in Precipice: The Literary Anthology of Write on Edge, and the BlogHer 2012 Voices of the Year compilation. Her writing has been featured on BlogHer and on various sites raising awareness about postpartum depression.

Angie is a recovering attorney turned writer and stay at home mom; a certified bookaholic who will become frantic when between books. She’s also a Junior League dropout, PPD survivor, and founder of both the Anti-Scrapbooking League and Copyedit the World. Friends predict that the availability of Sharpies combined with society’s affinity for bad grammar will eventually get her arrested. Oh, and she squeezes toothpaste from the middle.

She writes at angiekinghorn.com

The instructors at MAU do a fabulous job teaching martial arts, but they don't stop there. They make it their mission to make their students better people. My children enjoyed their classes so much that I tried it as well. I have had a great experience and can confidently say that MAU is a wonderful place to train for both children and adults.
