INCREDIBLE! 3D printers are making a difference in the lives of children.

Hand of a Superhero

Three-dimensional printers create inexpensive, striking prosthetics that hint at comic-book superpowers for children who are missing fingers.

My Tribe has been affected by this plague and I am sorry to say, we are losing the fight.

This is appalling . Was her solution ideal, NO, does she have ideal circumstances, NO.  She has a job for goodness sake, she is supporting her family the best she can.  Now, she has the added trouble of bail, court dates and probably probation and fines.  Thanks for keeping  your job lady, it would have cost you less to quit.  Not to mention, now her daughter gets to spend time in one of this Country's worst systems: fostercare.

I wish I could understand this…but I just don't. When I was nine I was out of the house all day playing. I know this is a different day and age…but my goodness, to send her to jail is ridiculous!!! Our system has gone awry..it's a shame and I'm sad and mad about it. Thanks for sharing!!!

Gifts are good things! But, too much of anything isn't good. A great way to combat having too many toys is to shift all the gifts to non-toy items....

"It may be easier to just assemble an ad, or create content that can be pushed from one-to-many, but unless that interruption is relevant, it's not going to resonate"

She has it right, I have been telling people this for a couple of years actually, and this is what I tell businesses when I consult with them about their social media and their integrated marketing plans.

I particularly like this line: "niche marketing HAS to get "nichier"* by deepening relationships with the audience they have - and keeping them happy - instead of spending all their efforts on making a lot of noise to acquire a new audience."

HEART BREAKING
It was something about the phrasing that got to me. Something about the cadence of his words, the staccato of his speech. “Nobody loves me. Not even my mother who gave birth to me.” It is an odd turn of phrase, isn’t it? Not even my mother who gave birth to me. He was buckled into ...

"we focus on helping communities and our nation establish systems to end homelessness. A system is not a single program. It is not a single funding source. It doesn’t come from a single agency. Instead, a system is a dynamic, resilient, adaptable series of relationships and linkages between resources focused on a common purpose. A system response means that it is not just any one of our responses -- it is all of ours. We all own it, we all define it, we are all responsible for contributing to it, and we are all accountable for its successes and failures"

Introduction
I am an Oregonian and a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.  I love Oregon's seasons, trees and wine and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world!

I have been fortunate to have had several remarkable opportunities; traveling abroad to study, working in philanthropy and serving in elected capacity for my Tribe. For every challenge I faced I sought resources to compensate for my shortcomings and learned the skills I needed to be successful.

My ability to keep dialogue moving by actively listening and articulating clearly prompted me to become a volunteer mediator and a professional life coach. These skills did not come natural to me but were gained through many hours of instruction and experience. They serve me well in all facets of  life, personal and professional.

Finally, I have a wonderful family consisting of my husband, 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren.  They truly make everything right in my world.
